Haha, yeah I switched the pins back. I've made that mistake in the past so thats one of the first things I checked:P
I think I will go ahead and try the chip. I can't justify not trying the bios chip with your advice. I'm a total noob when it comes to the bios department.
Thanks for the...
Well, after like a week of being shorted out, I finally got to it today. Still nothing.
You fairly confident its the bios chip?
I can get one for like $18 shipped.
Look at #7-ii
It looks like they can ship replacement drive 1st for a fee of $9.95
Also includes a prepaid shipping label to ship the defective drive back to them.
Ok thanks, yes the chip is in a socket. I already extremely carefully pulled the bios chip and put it back in to check.
The board hasnt been in a system for about 2 weeks now, I will try clearing everything again and force flash this weekend
Confirmed (for me anyway) temp sensors go haywire when unlocked. I unlocked my 550 to 4 cores and all of the cores register 0 C/ 32 F. My mobo has a cpu temp sensor (must be a socket reading or something) and that seems pretty accurate.
I have a Biostar TA790GXE 128M board and I failed an bios update. For me, that was no big deal as its happened before and I just use the Bios Relife feature.
I started the Relife and that failed writing about half way through and the computer shut down. I accidentally tried the relife with a...
Ok, now I'm not sure what I want to do. I currently have 2x 640gb @ 7200rpm in raid 0. Is there a way to tell how the chip is controlling them? I will quick run a read/write test with hdtune and give you some numbers.
Ha, well that shows you how much I know about those drives.
Are there drives with 10,000rpm+ that are sata? I thought I saw a raptor like that earlier...
I wish I could get an SSD. They are just too expensive for me at the moment.
I searched for a while and couldn't find anything on this so my apologies if it has already been asked.
But just how fast do you think 4 10,000RPM cheetah drives(146GB each) in raid 0 would be? I can get ahold of 4 of these drives for very cheap, thats why I'm wondering.
I am fairly new to...
Whatever way you wanna look at it, its still definitely not 1080p and it probably won't make a huge difference watching regular TV. Personally I like 720p/1080p vs 1080i because I watch a lot of sports which = lots of fast motion...
Yeah that looks much better, looks like you have cool & quiet on btw.
My 555 BE at 1.325v w/stock heatsink runs about 26 on idle and up to about 40 under load.
Haha, I can relate to pissing people off when I had worn out tires on my RWD Crown Vic.
Definitely go with the snow tires, for me it was a night and day difference.
Nevermind, I just did some browsing and it looks like most cards are shorter than that.
There is 11 1/4" to the hdd cage, about 9 1/4" to a hdd in the same slot.
I have 3 drives mounted at the bottom with access to my top pci-e right now. I could move them up to the FDD slots, then again if I ever wanted to do crossfire/sli the 2nd slot wouldnt be usable...
There is about exactly 1" from the end of a 4830 to a harddrive(with no power hooked up) and my...
Hey everyone, I am pretty new to this site. I have a Raidmax Smilodon case with some issues. I recently added 2 hard drives and there isn't enough room for a graphics card. I put my dead 4830 in just to see and there is no way both the card and the drives can be there(they both fit without any...
