that almost 100% related to the version of IE you have.
i actually had a similar problem accessing OpenTopic with IE 4.0/NT.
unfortunately that was the corporate drive/box ghost image for the place i was at the time.
I tried to get admin rights on the box to upgrade to 5.5 and it was like i...
rebates are the devil.
they should never be a huge deciding factor when making a purchase.
think of them a an interesting possibility that might or might not happen.

Hello,
since i was in the market for a usb and possibly firewire cd-rw i found the below deal:
NECX/Gateway Predator Product Page
$199.99 w/ free shipping
$20 of $149 (found various places)
$50 rebate from iomega
total= $129.99
i'd recommend getting a firewire card and the optional adapter...

hackers was the best movie ever because it was predicated on the idea that hackers are hot and look damn good in leather pants (angelina jolie). now if only this was true......
i was going thru some other posts and ppl were writing that there isn't any difference between the two.
at that point, i got confused.
if i have a ata66 drive and an ata100 controller is the speed still ata66. is there a difference in the model/manufacturer of the drive?
erk. my head spins...
i think this is regional. i called the one mentioned in the first post in CA and all was cool. when i tried locations in the NorthEast it all went to hell.
any one in the NE have luck?

i called all the stores in my area via the store locater already.
was hoping some one had a surefire #.
guess i will have to expand my area.

so i've called about 12 stores in the New England area and the ones that have then in stock claim they are 249.99.
is this regional? ugh.

So card is 99.99 but there is a 10 of 100 coupon floating around out there.
buy a small $$$ item (saw some media for about 5) to put it over 100 bucks and you're on the way to wireless goodness.
Linky-dink

kinda snatched from techbargains but hub is cheaper so you get a bigger bang/buck ratio.

well that was interesting.
as it turns out it was the fan1 issue. that's so silly.
as a bonus, when i updated i found that weird scsi bug where it doesn't boot when set to SCSI.
back to UL for me until this is sorted out.
thanks all.
hello,
it finally happened to me. after years of merrily flashing bios after bios, i messed up. :(
so now i am stuck with a beeping kt7 motherboard the refuses to POST.
does anyone have any next steps? having skimmed over those dire bios update warnings, i think i've probably voided my...
these rebate people are ridiculous and sleazy.
they exist to deny valid claims.
technicalities, fudging and outright lying seem to be their MO.
umm as you can tell i've had some run-ins.
aarrgh i can't get dell to confirm my rebate. and i have my laptop but i can't get attached until i know my $$$$ is coming.
anyone have any #'s or tips as to how i can confirm rebate and finally get some sleep?
hmm i just got mine online so no receipt for me.
if anyone has a scan of the form, i'd appreciate it. i poked around the sierra site to no avail.
thanks all.
upgrading any component on the motherboard besides memory and drive is a bad idea. compatibility, warranty and many other thoughts come to mind.
if you were thinking about upgrading to a pIII from a celeron, just but it upfront.
ok.
