I did a swap of components from one system to the other, in web browing and productivity it feels faster than my i3 3220, it definitely feels slower in gaming but with my 7750 it is still acceptable. I am really enjoying not hearing the cpu fan.
It does everything well that I need to do. This...
I won't even bother with iGPU testing, I tried the iGPU out in Rust at 1440x900 and it was choppy even with all settings on low. The iGPU should be fine for web browsing and watching videos but I would not suggest doing any modern gaming on it.
$117.16 for CPU/Motherboard. I had all the other parts in an i3 system that I just transferred over. I only ended up paying $21 out of pocket because I had $96 in amazon gift cards from survey sites.
I bumped the voltage slightly to 1.32. After using this system for several days now I am quite impressed with it. I use many tabs in both chrome and firefox (20+) in each and with 4 actual cores it is smoother with what I do than it was with my i3 3220.
I don't have any usb 3 devices, I use a single usb 2 port connected to a 10 port powered usb hub. Everything is working well so far I ran the heaven benchmark overnight and all was well.
Going to do some tweaking later today when I have the time. I might be able to get another 100 MHz out of this cpu. I got my Cinebench R15 score up to 194.
I am using the Asus AM1L-A board. I do a bit of audio editing and have a 4 gig ram drive for scratch/temp files. I will post some screenshots in a little bit.
Fairly excited about the system so far.
The specs are the following.
AMD 5350 @2.5Ghz
Asus AM1L-A
12 Gigs of Crucial ballistix ram
OCZ Agility3 60GB
Crucial M500 120 GB
AMD HD7750
So far I have only run cinebench r15 with a score of 178.
I need to pickup a cheap PSU so I can bench this...
In about a week when I get my 5350 I will run a few benchmarks between the 5350, a Celeron g530 and a Core i3 3220 with them all at the same clock speed with a HD 7750.
It will be interesting to see the results.
Anyone have a cinebench score for this cpu yet? I would also be interested in the score of an I5 downclocked to the speed of the Pentium J2900 for comparison.
It looks like this quad core is about the same speed as an e8400 or a celeron g530. As long as you can find a board with a PCIE slot it would be a decent low powered 720P gaming rig.
This would be perfect for playing F2P steam games and retro gaming LAN boxes.
The price is not that bad because it is a board+8 core cpu in MITX and I will be able to run it all on a 250 watt PSU.
a A10-7850K and a GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XN-WIFI FM2+ would cost me $281.68 and would be a power hog with only 4 cores to work with.
I have also been considering the Avoton C2750. 2.4GHz Octa-core, seems like it would make for a good game sever and a light gaming machine with a hd 7750.

I have a Lexicon Alpha that I use to connect my guitar to my computer. I am using music creator 5 le. I am able to add an audio track but I cannot figure out how to apply vst effects to the audio track.
Because I have amazon gift cards I can use. I just found the motherboard on microcenter for reference. I already have the celeron sitting here waiting for the ram and the motherboard.
The point is I already have several of these drives and they consume less power than the desktop ones anyways. A blu ray/dvd/cd burner for desktop costs a bit more than the mounting kit I need.
Thanks gsaldivar for the link.
