What is UEFI?

My computer started installing windows updates (running windows 8.1), and turned off. It never came back on. Said something about the BCD being corrupt. Well I went into the Bios and noticed "UEFI" was selected as the 1st boot device. I went and changed it to the HD my OS is on, and now...

HD showed up durring install, but not after.

I have two Hard drives, a WD 2TB, and a Seagate 500Gb. During a fresh win7 install, BOTH drives showed up. After 7 installed, I don't see the drive in My Computer. I checked "disk management" and it's not there either. What's the prob?

How so? With my intel e5400 2.7Ghz, playing Dirt 2 at full rez only uses about 30% of my cpu.

Will all this run on a 350Watt PSU?

I have had antec and rosewill psu's and they always croak on me. I love thermaltake, and they have decent customer support. As far as the video card, $140 is my budget, I think the 550ti will toss what ever I will throw at it. The psu right now is a TT Purepower 350 watts...

Is this board ok?

I'm talking about the intel pentium sandy bridges like the dual core G850. It says the board supports i3/i5/i7. I should not of said older, I mean the lower-end socket 1155s.

Both around the same price, but which would be better for gaming? Amd has a passmark score of 4450 Intel has a passmark score of 2701 But I've heard you shouldn't count on scores. So I'm confused.

CPU all over the map.

I was using the Easytune 6 which shows the live clock speed. It would jump from 3200 MHz to like 4500, then it would go back down to like 2000, then spike to 9000 for like a split second.

Overclock was working fine until reboot.

I got my 2.7 GHz Intel e5400 up to 3.54 GHz. It was running fine under full load for over 30 minutes. Then I went to install my new DVD Burner I got from newegg. When I tried to power on, it would be in a reboot loop. It would turn on, run for 3 seconds, and shut off. It did this...

CPU all over the map.

I noticed when watching HD video, the frequency of my processor will spike to like 6000-9000 Mhz for like 2-3 seconds. It's a E5400 2.7GHz Overclocked to 3.5GHz.

Fastest Yet Cheapest Socket 775 CPU?

Thanks for the help everyone. I decided that I am just going to save up for a new Mobo, CPU and Ram. This motherboard is also missing the I/O plate, and I don't feel like spending $20 for one.
