Gtx 580 Over new 660ti?

I'm pretty set on the 580 considering im getting it for a little cheaper than a new 660ti. I just want to solidfy my purchase in knowing this is the optimal route. Or is the new tech just that good? Thanks again! Specs: I5 2500k @ 4.6ghz Cosair gs 700watt 16gb ram 1080p resolution

Skyrim on a 9800 gtx+ (with setup in sig)

Im running it with an old bfg gtx 280 @ 1080p and havent had a hitch!

I think so too, i got the last batch of 2500k's (rumor says they need more juice) @ken Ah sorry, I meant just the wattage falls low on idle, Vcore is still roughly 1.3 at idle with 4300mhz At idle, The vcore stays same but watts do drop, am i still in the clear?

Right, i should have been more clear, when down clocking to 4.3 i also reverted all the settings to default. I did disable c3/c6 but kept c1e(i think?) Anywhom, The Cpu does throttle down on power consumption during idle, but it seems it keeps the clock speed. Is this going to effect it long-term?

Atwhat settings will my system play BF3?

Prayfordeath is right, With a 6950 i'd say ultra without any AA, High with 2x AA might get you 40-50 i'd think. High /ultra is hardly noticable anyhow in the difference. Coming from someone who owned a unlocked 6950 i can say that AMD just doesnt do AA that well compared to the other team...

I think you have it correct, it is odd though, i didnt do much but add one notch for 4.3ghz but after that i have to crank some juice to it, it seems. Thank you all for being so helpful :) happy holidays

Just an update, I've been running prime since my last reply at 4.3, rock solid! I'm using a ASrock z68 3/3 mobo, i got it for a really good price on the egg. Gonna keep my settings the same for now, Though i do worry about future OC abilities with this chip

i5 2500k, BSOD under load!

I think it's set at Lv 4 (maybe?) I've got it stable (so far) at 4.3 with just a +.005v offset. Not sure if it just doesnt like 4.4 or what, but im happy with 4.3 as long as shes stable! my temps usually float at 60c (only one fan on hyper 212+)

load temps never go above ~60c I did bump the voltage to 1.35 and it held up longer during prime95. Still got BSOD afterwards

i5 2500k, BSOD under load!

Ok so my i5 2500k BSOD under load on prime 95, idle is fine. This is at 4.4ghz ( with hyper 212 cooler) Im using a z68 mobo, i have my vcore about 1.34, that to me seems a little high? maybe im bsod because it not having enough? Any advice would be great! To add, c3/c6 are disabled, turbo...

Corsair gs700 sli?

Its sli ready but there's only 2 pcie connectors... Its 56ampa on 12v which is plenty of power, (stock clocks) but im just unsure of the molex connectors
