Ok I found out what the problem is, maybe someone could help me with the next step of what to do now that I figured it out.
I have an HP dv6 6104nr laptop, a guess a rather common problem people are having with them is with overheating but I have yet to find someone that has a solution to fix...
Hi all, I'm having a very strange problem with my laptop and I'm tending to think that the problem is more hardware related than it is software. The reason I think this is because I'm dual booting windows 7 and Ubuntu and the problem exists in both operating systems(unable to connect to wifi.)...
I cannot figure out how to get fedora to install correctly on my computer, I've tried figuring the problem with a UEFI/bios tutorial on the fedora website but to no avail; I know I'm doing something wrong still but I can't figure out what. While installing I booted with the UEFI version of my...
Yea I myself am thinking for my next upgrade will be a nice SSD, I was thinking about ordering 2 more sticks of RAM to make it a total of 16gb but I don't think that'll actually help my gaming much(I have a 560 ti) so I'm definitely thinking SSD. Which I really know nothing about I have to do...
Thank you so much fixbsod, that was hugely helpful!
To try to help answer your question what voltage is your 1866 RAM rated to run at?
I had the same problem as I tried to OC my 1600 to 1866 and said overclock failed and my computer kept rebooting without getting to the bios even. So I had to...
My BIOS says my RAM is running at 1600MHz which my Mobo is rated for without overclocking and was automatically set to 1600MHz. Now I open up CPU-Z and under the Memory Tab it says DRAM Frequency 800MHz(double that means 1600MHz) and FSB DRAM 1:6 but when I click the SPD tab it says PC-3 10700...
The bios has them set to 1600, I made sure of that. There wasn't a need to manually set them to 1600 because the BIOS automatically recognized what speed the RAM was. The BIOS also recognized the correct timings as well. they're rated at 9-9-9-24 and that's exactly how they're set in the BIOS...
I have some good Kingston RAM that's supposed to be running @ 1600MHz; in the bios when I built my rig(a few months ago) the BIOS was able to detect it running correctly at 1600MHz but when I check CPUz it says the RAM is running at 667MHz @ double data rate which I know is 1333MHz.
I don't...
Hey all, I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6104nr laptop that I tried dual booting windows 7 home premium and Linux. I resized the existing windows partition in 2 and formatted the other partition ext3(I believe) but I could not install linux and now I cannot boot into windows anymore. I attempted to...
My mom has some software that has a USB Unikey dongle and the company is looking for the USB security device's serial number in order to upgrade but don't know where I find this information. any help would be appreciated. On the dongle itself it looks like there was something on the dongle that...
I disagree with most of the people on here that say turning your computer on and off hundreds of times has no effect on longevity on computers. I humbly disagree, of all the computers I have built over the last 15 years 90% of the computers that had parts fail were the ones I have built for...
You know I get tired of people bashing how "bad" the FX chips are all the intel fanboys and shit. Yes I have a 2500k and it's a good chip but listen, if that's not an option a 6100 would be FINE for gaming. My brother has a 4100, together with 8gb of 1866 ram and a AMD 5xxx series video card...
I cloned my hard drive a few days ago but I don't think I'm booting from it. The bios shows the hard drive that I want to boot from as the one I want it to boot from but i'm relatively sure I'm not booting from that drive. Using crystal disk info software it shows the drive that I'm trying to...
right, I downloaded a few different software solutions but just got Acronis. Hopefully this one isn't to confusing. Some of the software I'm looking has several different options I can choose from but sound so similar to eachother I can't figure out which one I should be using. hopefully that...
I'm having trouble finding articles on my exact situation online so hope you guys can help out and couldn't find anything with the search button here. so here's the issue:
I'm tired on reinstalling windows I just did it after my new PC build but I got a little more money and bought a new hard...
As if it were really that easy, he also knew it was illegal what he did the first time, did that stop him? NO obviously didn't, just because he knows not to do something doesn't mean he won't do it.
OP, do anything you have to do to protect your children at all costs I would make it painfully...
Sorry if this is a repost but I couldn't find the answer to my question.
I know how to delete the history, my history was disabled already so didn't have to do anything but...
After they switch their policy can you keep it disabled or is everything automatic where they are just going to rape...
I had the worst luck with Western Digital, I should use that term relatively because I've only had 2 of their drives fail and have owned several of them as well. I've been pretty lucky with all my computer parts not being damaged or DOA but HDDs especially which is rare. Memory I've had the...
How do you tell if your SATA controller is Marvell or not, I have a P8Z68-M Pro and just ordered a 1tb SATA III HDD. Was this a waste of time and money?
Just ordered one of these babies yesterday, it seemed like a great deal and people can say all they want about Seagate but that's all I've owned for HDDs the past I'd say 7 years and haven't had 1 fail yet and I've built many people many computers in the past few years and keep in touch with all...
Thanks for feedback guys but one thing. I already have an nVidia 560 Ti installed. I was wondering would installing an additional nVidia card (not in SLI) and making it a physx only GFX card boost my performance in physx enabled games?
This is a really dumb question but I have and extra AMD 4890 card laying around collecting dust, I have a 560 Ti for my main card and an extra PCIe 4x slot. If I threw that 4890 card in the 4x slot could I use that to run anything specifically to take the load off of my 560?
Question 2...
*sigh* this is getting annoying(not you guys) beta after 6 months after release? Is there any SSD's out there reletively new that have proven themselves to be extremely fast and extremely reliable? All of my computer parts are new other than my HDDs. This is the only thing my computer is...
Currently looking at SSDs on newegg and have heard great things about the M4 series from Crucial, they seem to be the really good drives from what i've read. If you have anyother considerations I'd be happy to hear any suggestions. Was a bit curious about these 2 selections of the M4 series...
LOL that's awesome. I thought the "K" series came with that semi good new intel cooler but was sadly mistaken. you know for as dinky and flimsy that cooler is unforunately I have to use it for a few more weeks until i got the dough for a noctua. Right now my computer is running ~29 Celsius...
Damn I thought I did pretty good for a reletively budget video card, I didn't have the cash to spend 600 on a new video along with everything else i had to buy
