I just did an i3 budget build, and if I lived near a MC, I would have gone i5/z68. The added cost of upgrading cpu, p/s, gpu later isnt worth it. spend now or spend later

I just built a new computer with an SSD(C) and a seperate 1TB HD(F). I want to install itunes and transfer my music. Is it possible to load/run itunes from the F drive, so as not to take up space on C drive? In the music folder there are 2 "locations" my music and public music. Which on do I...

2nd build gone bad...newbie needs help(FIXED!!!)

I've downloaded seagate's diagnostic software, problem is I have to be able to see the HDD to use it. I thought I was in luck when seagate was able to read a s/n from the drive....then it vanished again. It's gotta be something I dicked up in bios and/or windows....

2nd build gone bad...newbie needs help(FIXED!!!)

IRST uninstalled, SSD running great on 6GB sata port. I'm gonna try borrowing a known good working HDD to test mobo/configuration tommorrow, I just can't fathom that a HD with approx. 2-3 hrs. and next to NO data on it goes bad. But I'm new to this, so what do I know. Thanks Dave

2nd build gone bad...newbie needs help(FIXED!!!)

OK, here's what I've gotten into. Asus P8Z68-VLE, I3 SB, 8GBHyper-X ram, seagate 1TB HDD and 120GB Agility3 SSD. Everything went well until I started loading OS, forgot to unplug HDD. (Intention was to load win7 on SSD and use HDD as storage.) Caught mistake, reloaded OS onto SSD. Changed boot...

HDD & SSD Configuration

Thanks Larry! So is it possible to migrate the windows storage to the HDD? You would move the entire C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents to the HDD, not just the desktop icon? Thanks Dave

When I complete my new build, and load my Win7 onto SSD for the first time, will it automatically recognize my hardware (Gigabyte MB, I3 cpu, samsung oem burner) and look for the most current drivers available via the internet? Or should I download them all to a thumbdrive to install? I see...

Thanks Charlie, that's a good idea. Now realizing I probably didn't need Z68 board for her build though. Got such a good deal at M/C on cpu/board combo couldn't pass it up. If all goes well with her build then mine is next...ha ha ha.
