I have it at work and home. You can remove one of the arms if you only want to use it for one monitor.
I just got 2x 2tb Samsung F4 drives in today. I'll try them out.
Just to clarify, I'm booting freeNAS (linux) from a compact flash and then mounting the SATA drive.
IDE. Yes, one drive was from an AHCI enabled computer, but I don't think that would effect boot. I went back to the original configuration, but it will not get past the POST screen with the SATA drive connected. I think the SATA controller may be messed up :|
SATA 150
It was working fine...
This is on a Shuttle SB61G2 I was using as a freeNAS server. It was working fine with one SATA drive attached. I powered it down to connect a second one and copy the data over. Ever since then, it will detect the SATA drives present but hang at this point:
I can boot fine to an IDE drive...
Looking for a minimalist microATX case. I have a full-size heatsink , video card and normal ATX power supply. 120mm fans are a plus, but 80mm would be ok. All I need is one 3.5" or 2.5" bay (internal), no 5.25" bays.
Just seeing if there is anything out there that is like my current case...
Yes, I should have clarified, I'm using this for a desktop. The other options are one of the Samsung drives.
Another thing to take into consideration is that I'm running XP, not Windows 7.
Anyone with firsthand experience of this drive in day-to-day use?
I primarily use my computer for web browsing, media, and running a virtual machine once in a while. I need more space than what I can justify spending on a SSD, and this drive seems like a good compromise.
Well, I tried it out. Temperatures are exactly the same as with Arctic Silver 2. I haven't tried to pull the heatsink off the chip, but from what I've seen of the dried copper compound, its still soft and scrapes away easily.
That's exactly what I was thinking. It dries out over the course of 2-3min, so you could apply it to the CPU while it was installed in the socket and then install the heatsink.
Also, mercury = noes.
Just had a thought about it since I was using a defroster repair kit to do the BSEL mod on my chip. It starts as liquid, contains mostly silver or copper, and dries in a short amount of time. I might try it on some old hardware I have spare and see how the temps do compared to some commercial...
Someone could come by, open the lid, and do whatever they wanted since I'd be logged in at that point. The locking is for security and peace of mind.
Would be rather annoying when I'm actually trying to use it and I think for a minute :)
I've been looking all over for this... I've seen it on some laptops, so I know it can be done somehow... either thru a registry hack or 3rd party app.
I do not want it to hibernate/sleep/turn off, i want it to lock like Win+L.
This is what I'm getting...
0123456 C<cr><lf> is compressed as:
10 32 54 F6 43 ED
"0123456" codes to 7 nibbles
"C" codes to 3 nibbles according to the rules
"<cr><lf>" codes to 2 nibbles
But what happens to the space? The single space should be converted to an "A"
The only way...
Had the car in neutral, rested the camera on the steering wheel.
Could have gotten to 6.75k, but i'd need to be in 1st and my left foot was already holding the brake (ebrake light interfered with the pic).
An example of revmatching:
Suppose you're at 45mph in 5th.
You want to downshift to accelerate, so you:
1) push in the clutch
2) move the shifter into 4th
3) depress the gas pedal to bring the revs up to the proper rpm
4) bring your foot off the clutch
If you skip step 3, you are not...
It is the E30 M3 EvoIII that has the 2.5L 240hp motor
I feel the same way about Audi. It is the same impression I got from the G35. It's a car that looks good and goes fast, but 'ultimately soulless,' as you put it so well. :brokenheart:
As for my shifter, it does show its wear over...
