If Home Theater is important to you, there is only one motherboard that is HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compliant. ASUS has confirmed that their Z170-DELUXE is compliant.

So just the two MBs, the G1 and the 7 (and maybe the GT) use the MegaChip to get the HDMI 2.0 and some version of HDCP.
it seems odd they didn't bother to take advantage of AR's capability to provide HDMI 2.0 for all the boards.
The specs indicate it does have Alpine and one Intel NIC. Not much information out on that MB. Has HDMI 2.0.
No mention of DHCP. And evidently not HDMI 2.0a.

Yes. I plan to use IGP. I believe only two of Gigabyte's boards use Alpine Ridge One is the G1 and the other is Gaming 7. But I haven't gotten Gigabyte to confirm those MBs comply with HDCP 2.2. They are rated for HDMI 2.0.
The only other way to get HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 is with a GTX-960...
I'm looking for HDMI 2.0 & HDCP 2.2 to future proof as much as possible. The board you cite has neither. Gigabyte only has two MB's with HDMI 2.0 and some version of HDCP.
You stated Alpine Ridge. I didn't see that mentioned in the specs you referenced.

The Asmedia ASM1142K controller chip seems to offer only HDMI 1.4. So perhaps the MegaChip is the only one that can be used to convert DP to HDMI 2.0 w/ HDCP 2.2.
It seems the Asmedia chip is used to do some other 'non-HDMI' features for Skylake.

A lot depends upon whether you are looking for Gaming MB's or non-gamers. If for HTPC's, you will find there are few.
These two Gigabyte MB's are shown to have HDMI 2.0 and HDCP. But no version shown for HDCP:

Thanks s44. I do spend time there too. But there isn't a lot of use of the GTX960 for HT. Seems as though @ChrisRey3156 has done pretty much the same things I have but with a little better luck. I figure by now, he has solved the issues he was having.

I am having a very similar problem. But I don't even get 30 Hz. And I get no image at all. I do have a Sony 940c, an i5 @ 3.5 gHz, and a GTX 960. And PowerDVD 15.
