They really don't need that... what they need is one good phone that does not carry that stupid exclusive carrier bs. They need to produce a good phone that is available on every carrier at the same time. Marketing really does not mean a thing if your target is only 1/4 of the population...
You will find that there are just as many quirks when it comes to apple products as ms.
Each ecosystem has things it does better than the others and worse.
Same but I have a 925. It has what I really need and what it does better than the competition I wouldn't want to live w/o (UI, camera, glance screen, skype integration, etc). Hopefully Win10 will bring competent apps because at least then it will be one app across all platforms but if not I am...
Still not a fan of the UI... really surprised nobody is doing good tablet apps with this kind of thing in mind. That's the one thing wink has right with their relay.
I thought I read somewhere that they would start after 10 gigs on each line but I could be reading that wrong.
The point here is this plan is not for the truly unlimited user... its for the user who uses alot of data every so often and needs that extra buffer for those months. Which I would...
Tmobile really is a awesome company.... probably going to move from their $30 prepaid to postpaid service just because of the extra features they are giving you.
The only thing I am waiting on is for them to upgrade their 2g rural coverage to 4g in my area. The entire country is supposed to...
Personally I hated my chromecast and found that its was always better to have a remote than have to use my phone esp when it comes to simple things like pausing and resuming.
Also the firetv is a pretty new product so its codec support is pretty limited... I would be shocked if they don't...
Personally the real value I see in wearing something on my wrist is in having all the sensors give me data about my life/day and the possibilities that allows for.
Interacting with my phone is better done with my voice in the car and windows phone driving mode and cortana actually does most...
I do too... not going to invest in any system until the prices come down and can wait until they do. Somebody has to be working on a $10-20 switch/dimmer.
That's what I mean.... have no interest in phone apps blown up for the bigger screen. Home Automation is one of those areas that can...
Same here... I use windows devices for the most part and not having apps on there kills the usefulness for me (same with tablet apps as I don't see any tablet version on ios/android). Also don't like that the internet must be working to use the hub, all kinds of scenarios where you would want...
Do you use windows 8 now? If so you absolutely should be using your ms account to login (you will have to for wp). Will make everything easier with your email/calendar/ondrive logins. And you will want to start moving your dropbox sutff over there too.... onedrive is natively integrated...
wp does have most of the big name apps but they regularly lag behind the others.
That said I don't find that I use that many apps anymore... I actually use 10-15 on a daily basis. To me the whole app situation is overblown.... there are plenty of interesting apps on each platform and each has...
Right now Roku3 or Rokustick but I am very intrigued by the upcoming android tv devices. They look to have a much better plex interface and have the seamless plex experience like roku.
I haven't tried xbmc recently but after going plex I don't think I will be going to anything else anytime soon. I have put roku's at every tv in my house and paid for plex. What plex does better than anything else is streamline media consumption.
I always found myself tweaking xbmc and others...
That's the rub.... getting into the system is very cheap but the critical flaw of all these systems to date is the high prices of the devices you put around the home because device manufacturers don't put wireless in their cheap product lines and those generally sell in volume now. Who is going...
Have then come out and said it does not? I thought it was all still rumors and speculation. I would actually be kind of surprised if the had one on the 8 and not use the same one for the 11.
I too am interested to see what the dell brings to the table.... The accessories for the surface...
We will never know but everybody that just assumes nokia would have done any better with android. They are pretty close sales wise with all the other android manufacturers other than samsung in overall sales. Even had they gone android I don't think they would have caught samsung so they would...
I know its not directly related to this issue but the biggest reason I chose ting over the other prepaid options was they offer the "good" sprint devices and you get full access to sprints service (so full lte and tethering). Most of the other prepaid offerings only offer you old and crappy...
Actually the windows 8 client does have push notifications.... should be coming to the other platforms as well and the integration with wp8 looks like it will be very integrated.

When it comes to battery efficiency intel has a history of nothing but failure.... battery efficiency is THE most important aspect of mobile processors these days. I think everybody here is putting far too much faith in haswell to change the game. Not saying it won't be competitive but I very...
Ie10 (both metro and desktop) have flash integrated.... they just use that whitelist to limit some sites from loading.
Also fyi dropbox has said an app is in the works for win8 (was announced last week at build).
Everybody who asks me for new computer advice is getting pointed directly at surface RT. I am the "support" for my friends and family and the fact that RT is a curated app store and they can't mess up. I will give them a 15 min demo and they will be fine.
Already converted most of my family...
Disagree with everything you just wrote.... I for one prefer a 16x9 tablet. Widescreen is the preferred aspect ratio for video and games and those are two of the biggest uses for me. I HATE playing any video on the ipad because of how small the screen becomes and most games are designed...
Actually batterylife should be closer to 10 hrs (the surface has a 31.5 whr battery compared to 25 in vivo rt sans dock and 47 with dock)
Surface to me is still the win8 launch hardware to get.... of course we will know for sure when the reviews hit if the hardware/design is as good as the hype.
They will do fine but not blow away expectations.... but they will set the table to become the preferred option for win9 and after (getting the store filled with apps and all that touchscreen hardware out there)
If you don't use much mins/txt/data.... ting is a good alternative. I moved my at&t smartphone there and my plan went from $75 to $20. With there referral program you get $25 off the cost of your device.

I think you need to wait and see the launch day before saying winRT won't have apps. Quite a few big name apps have been shown but are not in the store yet (netflix/skype).... you would expect those to be in there by launch. Even still I would say the 1000 apps in the win8 app store is already...
That might matter if the only way to use the keyboard was through the touch cover but it will have an onscreen keyboard just like the other tablets. with win8 you have the onscreen keyboard when on the go or when you are stationary have the touch keyboard (you can't exactly use a laptop on the...
There are way too many ways you can "count".... you almost have to break it down by category or pool everything together.
I think overall will be relatively even between all 3.
By category:
I see win8 winning the pc/tablet category with ipad/mac in a somewhat close second and android way...
