It will be between 75% to 150%+ faster when you don't hit a VRAM limitation.
With a VRAM wall, it will be infinitely faster. Which is half the time today.
I would buy it without thinking twice if I were you.
Going forward, you should expect a 6700k to be at least 50-75% faster than a 2500k, will happen in the future, 100%. In terms of minimum FPS the difference maybe even greater.
Expect this within EOY 2017.
9.2 is slower than 9.2 betas and 9.1. 9.2 is about as slow as 8.2/8.3. 9.2 betas were like 8.4.
Also, the problems revealed are the ones 9.2 corrects. But 9.2 is significantly slower than 9.2 betas.
They make my iPhone 5s, iPad Air 1, iPad Mini 2 almost unusable with default settings.
Lots...
If you see Fallout 4 then a 6700k is already 30-40% faster than a 4790k. And there are other situations where a 6700k is 10-15% faster than a 4790k.
By 2017 a 6700k will be on an average 15-25% faster than a 4790k in modern 2016 end games. Most likely.
And a 6700k is already 40-60% faster...
970 for 1080
390/980 for 1440p
With min 16GB DDR3 2133+ RAM
And upgrade to 5820/6700k/Cannonlake/BW-E as soon as you can. Or at least to a 3770k/2700k.
And I'd any day take a single 970 over 960 4GB SLI or 770 4GB SLI.
Yes. A more apt GPU might help reduce the stuttering. But this only happens when there is a significant mismatch.
I would recommend trying to limit the FPS and under lock and underpower the card before you sell it.
Yes. A 6700k will be 30-50%+ faster clock for clock. Even for games. The difference may be even greater at times.
But that shouldn't stop you from getting a 290 for your 2500k. A slower GPU would be slower still with your CPU as well.
What I have been saying since ages. In exactly the same way a i5 750 will probably be sluggish compared to a i3 6100/6300. Or something along the same lines.
Anything less than a 3770k/4690k is dated, especially for gaming. The minimum acceptable today is i5 2500k OC.
With Indian operators data on international roaming costs about USD 600/GB if you take a plan in advance. Otherwise it costs 10-50x that rate.
Incoming/Outgoing is a few USD/min with a min a pulse.
Best to buy local sims if you leave your home country for a trip.
It takes 10 minutes to go...
Your old dims are too slow anyway. Sell your old RAM. Buy 2 X 8GB DDR3 2400 CAS11 RAM for under approx 100 bucks or so.
Also, you might be able to find 1866/2133 2 X 8GB for say $60-80 or so. And 2400 for 801-100 or so. So doesn't make sense to keep your old RAM.
Get a 6700k with 32 GB DDR4 3200 RAM.
In games like Fallout 4 you'll double your avg FPS and probably triple your minimum FPS. With the same GPU.
In other games your minimum FPS will probably increase by 50-100%.
A 6700k should last a good 2-3+ years as the top dog. Hopefully. :-)
And 32...
If somebody needs proper multi threading then it easily trades blows with a 2700k/3770k stock.
For gaming it will usually compete with a i3/i5 except for games that are very well multi threaded in which case it may compete with or beat a 2500k stock.
