    Newegg refurbished AMD XP 2100?

    Items often don't show in refurb list if they have none. Totally agree, don't buy refurb CPUs. I've been reading overclocking forums for years, and the hot rods return them all the time, probably after a serious overdose of voltage. Who knows how good their cooling was? New 1700+ "B"=$50 shipped!

    Just installed 1700 "B" JIUHB 03-03 received yesterday from newegg. This is on a MSI K7T Turbo2 (bios 3.6) KT133A MB. Running 1.65v 157x12.5=1963. Post and Windows shows XP2400+. Using med/low Coolermaster with Enermax 80x80 adjustable at about 1500 RPMs. 500 o/c for $52.

    Duron PSU requirements

    Don't know what you have now, but my inexpensive Sparkle 300 BTVS with 200 watts combined on +3 & +5 powered my Duron 950 and this XP1600+@1900+ with power to spare. 220 watts combined gives even more power for later expansion.

    Asuming stability a must, MSI K7T Turbo (plain or Turbo2 + Raid model if needed) are great KT133A chipsets. Run XPs (I have used XP on both) and memory can run asynch. Plain Turbos can be had on Ebay for little $. Good luck. EDIT: Per MSI, plain Turbo goes to XP1800+. Turbo2 has XP2200+ bios out.

    I know of an early brown 1600+ that will hit 2000+, so your voltage may be the chief culprit. I have new 1600+ @ 1800+, and I love it! After unlocking should go to 1800 MHZ and above.
