Maybe, but the card was delayed for a reason. I would imagine its something more than a driver issue, likely firmware or possibly hardware. The boost clocks seem strange if they are spiking that high early on a load, wouldn't that also increase heat and power resulting in throttling? Edit...

Just a 7950 boost with an i2500k, I am interested in how BF4 mp will work under Mantle. It plays smooth now but less overhead should improve things.

The AT Battlefield 4 F.A.Q., News, and Discussion thread

I don't know what fps I am getting, but at 1080p on Ultra (no msaa) it plays very smooth in 64 player servers with just a 7950. The chaos of this game is great and players seem to work together for the most part. The addictive sense of "one more unlock" is creeping on me.

Any tips for switching from NVidia to Radeon?

Nice timing Tripperdude. I'm going to be switching from a Nvidia card to an AMD one and I've been trying to find an answer to a question but since it might help you too I am going to piggyback on the post. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into removing Nvidia drivers to clear the way...

Thank you so much for the heads up. Managed to grab one at the Cambridge MA store. I saw so many of these SSD deals lately and have either missed them or passed for some reason, but I can now retire my C300 raid setup. Can't wait to see what 2 years have brought in SSD improvements.

But what model was Sapphire referring to? Does it apply to all 7850's? They might have improved on the power components, so it worries me that people apply that statement to all 7850's. One can run their components out of spec and not have a problem, but others will have dead parts. I just...

A warning to prospective 7850 owners

I question the long-term viability of these cards when running some of the clocks and volts that people have them at. The cards, even the non-reference high-end ones like the Asus DC models, only have 1 6-pin pci connector. The power delivery systems of these cards do not seem to be beefy...

Fractal R3 fan setup question

I have never had a problem hooking up fans to a motherboard, whether it's a cheap board, top of the line, split (Y) cables. The manufacturers know what they are doing, they put the headers on the board. Plus these days even cheap motherboards have extensive speed options for fans.
