Hey -
Right now I am seeing plenty of AMD 7970 cards for $120-150.
Assuming the risk of a used card and not caring about power usage - aren't these a good deal right now? The price point is very important.
Thoughts?
I'd recommend running native.
Check around craigslist and get yourself an actual NES/SNES/Genesis.
It is so much better playing on the original hardware than emulated. You can even pick up flash cartridges for the systems here:

They work wonderfully.
Just to echo the above, I have an rMBP and a 2010 MBP with the Nvidia 330M. There isn't anyway to get switchable gfx in windows.
I actually get better battery life running OSX and then Windows in Vmware Fusion.
We can only hope the people who fund the projects will seriously scrutinize them.
But I am certainly glad it is there. I am pretty damn sure that there would be no Wasteland 2 if it were not for Kickstarter. (yes I am a backer)
But honestly I see the service to be of limited use. It was...
I am pretty excited about this game.
I played SR2 to death on the PS3 and Xbox Coop. SR2 on the PC was sooooo horrible though.
Is this game steamworks? Can anyone tell me how easy it is to join up with friends in Coop?
To answer your question, of course it would be faster than standard drives in most situations...
By why? Do you need a 500GB boot drive? Just get an SSD and call it a day. A 64gb SSD will be muuuch faster and have plenty of room for an OS plus programs.
Killing Floor is a blast. I have 250+ hours racked up.
BF-BC2 squad play can be a blast too.
I also enjoy crouch-only servers for COD: black ops.
Also might wanna try R6 Vegas 2 or Graw 2. You can play the single player game coop.
I also noticed that last time I went to play Black Ops I need to choose "Do not keep this game up to date", exit then select "Always keep this game up to date".
After that it downloaded a new patch. But even verifying the game cache did not force the update.
I have also had the exact same...
There are a handful of sites selling Steam keys from Europe and Russian that are sometimes cheaper than the best prices over here.
I know the Russian ones usually require you to connect to a VPN so your source IP is Russian when you activate, but after that you are set. They games are "world...
I just purchased a pair of 64GB M4 on sale at for ~90 each.
Here is my crystaldisk mark result. So far I am pretty impressed. For under $200 bucks it is a winner.
Now I installed the Intel RST and enabled write back cache:
Everything installed in my Fractal Designs case...
Went to bestbuy @open and they would not sell them instore... they are sending them back to HP.
Congrats if you scored one. They are going for ~200 on ebay now. (which is still a nice price)
Yeah, I am able to contol the light/glare in my living room. The TV faces a wall and the blinds cover the window to the left.
This is just something you need to access before buying a plasma (which sounds like you already know ;) )
