Ethereum GPU mining?

The modded bios is to adjust memory timings. I'm no expert but I know that memory speed is critical for the ethereum algorithm. Edit: I don't run at 2200MHz because my computer displays artifacts when I go past 2000MHz, but if I could then that would give me even better hash rates.

If you're going to mine ether directly with claymore, then you can do a lot better than 21MH/s with your Rx480. I get 29MH/s on a XFX 4GB 480 and 28MH/s on an ASUS 8GB, overclocking the memory to 2000MHz and the core at 1150MHz only. Drawing less than 80W per card on average. I modded my bios...

Yeah, I have an old Sapphire 7950 that's still mining ethereum on one of my PCs. I bought it during the lite coin craze when someone in this forum discovered a clearance batch at normal prices on some website.

With your data, and current ETH price and difficulty vs current Zcash price and difficulty it seems to me that mining either of them gives similar profits. I'll have to do my own testing once I get all the cards running, but all things being equal I'll just mine ethereum directly into my wallet...

Both units look good. Looks like I can solve my problem with less than $100, that's quite a relief. I don't know how much of a benefit the Gold standard would be for me but 7 year warranty sounds good. I'll check the reviews.

My PSU (Antec EA-650) died last night and I've been searching through amazon what to get now. My computer draws around 550W at the wall when in full load. I want something that is quality but not overkill as money is tight at the moment. Basically I won't compromise my PC with some cheap noname...

Except you don't know what I think it means. Maybe I made a mistake calling it a crash, but in my defense on btc-e it had dropped from an $830 high to about $730 at that point in time. And then it recovered. Carry on.

I don't follow rumors or news that much, but what do you mean a few days? I'm saving the pennies for a 7950 myself and would love it if the price came down or if a 670 came with better specs for the same price. I'm a couple of months away from having the money
