Windows XP install problem

Hi people, I wiped my stable as you can get it win98SE and installed XP PRO. There was a hangup in the install and I think that was where the system was confused. Multiple installs later (fresh not upgrades) the system still comes up without my HP burner or Creative DVD-ROM. Devices show...

Hi People, Quick one... 1G blue core 1G Tbird, runs at load at 30 C at default clock. Does this sound like a good candidate for OC. 1.2G hardly seemed worth it but 1.4 as a possibility does get my attention. Cheers, Joe

Installing the FOP32-1: Is it supposed to take a LOT of pushing to install?

Don't use too much force to catch that clip!!!! Use 2 screwdrivers (carefully), one to push the spring down and the other to keep it pushed out so that it will slip under the socket clip. Patience......, with care it will slip on easily but don't push down hard, you're just not catching the...

SB Live Killing my System!

People, After making the mistake of installing all 25MB of the SB Live 'software', my system refuses to boot up beyond the cursor and wallpaper. It also takes at least 5 minutes to get to that nonfunctioning point. I can not find a remove for the SB Liveware in win98SE add/remove programs. Does...

Well, I finaly killed a CPU thru overclocking!!!!

Bad Luck, If I told you the number of times I made a voltage jumper adjustment on my board and disconnected the cpu fan and forgot to reconnect it!!! I have a blue core 1G as well and it wants to run real hot. Were you at 52C without any load? I hate to think that you have to supercool these...

I run a 1G at 1.75 and it will climb to the mid 50's C. I wouldn't say it's alarm time but you may want to check the whole cooler system, good thermal contact, up to spec fan speed, maybe think about a larger HS that pushes more heat off the sink. My first try would be good thermal contact. Good...

Adjust Duron FSB with PC100?

People, Does it make sense to even try adjusting the FSB with PC100 CAS 2 memory. I was thinking that I may have some leeway and that it would have to be tested. Is it worth it to try? Cheers, Joe

Athlon Problem - FIC-AZ11 & Athlon 950 locks up randomly

Heat sink compound...too much?

NEOS, IMO Practice a bit on putting that HS on, it will be worth the extra time. Look for little extra's on the HS clip like a catch that may take something like a screw driver head. That way you can apply steady downward and outward pressure to slip that spring on carefully without nicking the...

Duron temperatures?

The Durons an T-Birds seem to be able to take high temperatures. How high and what will running at 38-52c do over time, I don't know. My older Duron has run at 33-38C for 3 months now. The HS is just slightly warm to the touch. From reading many posts. High 30's to mid 40's doesn't seem to be...

Duron OC Going in Wrong Direction

Thermal Pad on FOP32-1

Anytime I have used the tape and then gone back to repencil the bridges or whatever, the pink goop is completely gone from the HS area in contact with the core and is usually clumped around the edges of the core. It may leave a fine layer on the core. I can't seem to see it Cheers, Joe :)

Are AMD CPU's too cheap?
