Mmmm, those snacks are awesome, but so bad for you... I wouldn't do it anymore (eat it out of the package) with the full packs that's meant to be boiled and cooked though. Love those snack sized ones.

Anyone read Hotmail on their Android phone?

I use the app, works pretty well. Only gripe is that unlike gmail's app, if you scroll past your usual sync days, it just stops. Gmail will keep moving back and sync as you scroll.

Which Ubiquiti UniFi AP option for a townhouse?

I actually live in a townhouse as well of about 1,500 sq ft. I use only 1 regular Unifi AP and it works just fine. I usually have about 10 wireless devices on it (smartphones, tablets, laptops, squeezeboxes). No issues at all.

Super noob with VPN's

I think you can do that with Microsoft RRAS. But I've never worked with Microsoft VPN before, so can't give you any pointers there. You would probably need to have dual NICs or port forward from your router to the RRAS server. I'm sure there are other software-based VPN that can do something...

You won't have true seamless roaming with consumer products. You need a wireless controller for that. But you can always have multiple AP's broadcasting the same SSID, in which case, it will be up to your end device on how aggressively it will disassociate with its current AP and connect to...

Not at all, I hear ya. I've worked with ISP level techs (not NOC, but onsite techs) that didn't know what they were doing. I've had one that didn't know how to change his laptop IP to a static on Win7. And I've had to troubleshoot their managed router. Anyway, sorry to derail the thread...

How to get 30 mbps

54mbps, 150mbps, 300mbps for wireless-N, everything is just theoretical. There are tons of intangible overheads that advertisementing don't tell you about. All those will play into the actual speed you get. This goes for both wireless and wired.

Just do you due diligence, all brands have quality and crap models. Laptops are essentially separated into a high end and low end range (below $500). You get what you paid for.

Agree with others' post. For CCNA, full fledge equipment is a waste. It tests you mostly on the technologies and basic commands. Use GNS3 for router simulation. For layer 2 switching, get a 3550 on Ebay. Those usually go for around $100 last I checked.
