Holy crap, "old" Sandy Bridge CPUs are still expensive as hell!

2500k's are around 110-150 euro, and Z68/Z77 mobos seem even more expensive than when they came out new....

Holy crap, "old" Sandy Bridge CPUs are still expensive as hell!

H are the low end ones, you need Z68/Z77 to overclock K CPUs I think

Holy crap, "old" Sandy Bridge CPUs are still expensive as hell!

You need a Z68 for overclocking the K series, but for turbo I think any platform chipset will do.

Holy crap, "old" Sandy Bridge CPUs are still expensive as hell!

the SBs are awesome for OC, 3,3g (3.7 turbo) i5-2500k goes easily to 4.5 without much trouble and up to 5ghz, the performance gain is huge.

Holy crap, "old" Sandy Bridge CPUs are still expensive as hell!

I'm still using my i5-2500K I built in 2011, there is little reason to upgrade, I just wish I could it put on a new modern z170 mobo.. Recently had a friend build a Skylake with a $420 (Europe) non-K i7, my 4.3ghz OC'ed SB performed better on most single-threaded tests like Super PI :D then he...

    What happened to Dailytech?

Noone in those threads knows what happened though, it's just weird the site and twitter etc all suddenly stopped without even a notice, I'm just curious about whatever happened.

    So is DailyTech finally dead?

I don't get your problem with Mike, his grammar sucked at times but so what, not like you were forced to read or you paid anything to access the website. Tbh it was entertaining and the articles were not the crap you all make them out to be, and it was the main reason I visited Anandtech few...

PSU started hissing. Can you recommend a new one?

I was just going try that after your suggestion, but then the hissing stopped :O I left the computer off overnight, then pulled the psu, opened it (I had already opened it before to clean off the dust, so I guess warranty is off anyway), powered it up and started a game to pull some power and...

PSU started hissing. Can you recommend a new one?

Decided to get this in the end for $116 http://www.corsair.com/enthusiast-series-tx650-v2-80-plus-bronze-certified-650-watt-high-performance-power-supply.html Registered with corsair to send a ticket about the hx, but they seem slow at replying; also where I bought the PSU they only store...

PSU started hissing. Can you recommend a new one?

So I've had this Corsair HX620 for almost 5 years now, pretty much 24/7; I guess not too bad but it wasn't cheap (~$160 in EU). I'm looking into replacing it now before causes any damage to other components eventually, what would you recommend? I see people usually go Corsair or Seasonic, any...

MSI used to be absolute crap, how is it nowadays? The other brand I've been considering for next PC is Asrock atm (although they used to be a branch of Asus afaik). Gigabyte boards haven't pleased me much either.

Yeah, given that QS was one of the reasons for my choice of mobo/cpu, I'd like to at least be able to use it. But it has been a huge dissapointment; such an awesome feature and it comes crippled like that with so many requirements: Must use Virtu to use QS, unless you use only onboard GPU Must...

little update: The service included with the new Ai Suite III for z87 motherboards (seems to work with little issues so far with z68) doesn't exhibit the memory leak issues so far. Pretty sad they won't update the older suites with it or at least link to it in the support/downloads section...

Been inclined to really do that, remove all this crap and use only bios, although the controls in the ai suite are nice and handy and I'm not sure everything is available through bios. Changing fan setup at will with fan xpert etc is also nice, sometimes I want a more quiet environment. For...

Virtu actually replied my ticket a while ago, and requested I download the latest version first. After pointing me to the wrong download and then to the right one when I complained, I replied after a few days that the memory leak persisted. Never got a reply, tried to reach them a few more...

Lol brilliant answer from support, "uninstall Ai Suite". that's what I want fixed.. what retards, rly I'm done with this bs brand, they were never useful in all the years I owned Asus mobos and required any support from them.

Asus memory leaks, please mention this in your next review

Hi, here's something I'd love for you guys to mention in your next review of an Asus motherboard: There is a huge memory leak in some of their drivers supplied with their motherboards for the last few years, apparently in at least one of the services used to interface with the Ai Suite and fan...
