HAF X was a late decision. Obviously plenty of cooling. From the reviews, seems like its not too noisy but I've not heard one in person. From experience though, bigger fans seem subjectively less noisy (or the noise doesn't bother me as much). We'll see. XFX cable length was a concern...

Windows Setup on a Raptor

I've got 2 raptors in raid 0 on an a7n8x deluxe. I just copied all of the sata files in the sata folder on the mainboard cd to a floppy and then hit the appropriate button to load a 3rd party driver. Worked simple as can be (I'm sure I didn't need to copy over all of the files from the SATA...

They use different memory also. Even if you could flash the bios to get the bios to tell it to run at pro speeds, you're likely going to be hit or miss on it actually running that fast. I would think you'd just want to use one of the overclocking utilities and take it up a step at a time to...

Lapping Questions

You can get the sandpaper from local automotive paint supply places. I don't think you need to buy a lapping kit per se. If you run out of a particular grit, just pick up some more locally. Matt

bad 12V line on my enermax?

I just realized my new Enermax power supply has 3.47 volts to the 3.3 volt line. The 12 volt line has 12.54 volts (not as bad). The 3.3 volt line is outside of Enermax's own tolerance limits. It is a bummer when you spend a premium for that kind of performance. Matt

Probably you're not running at the correct front side bus speed. If you were running at 100 and not 166, that would explain the number (and probably your poor benchmarking). A lot of motherboards seem to pick up the multiplier automaticially but start the front side bus at 100 mhz and...
