I didn't bother scrolling thru all the posts so if this opinion was already stated, ignore my sorry @ss.
Even with more powerful technology and stronger muscle, I don't think Microsoft can penetrate this market smoothly. Looking at all the releases so far, the only sure superiority is...
For those buying WiFi card, don't get the D-Link. It's extremely bulky and blocks everything, even the stylus. I think I am going to switch to SMC. Symbol makes a CF1 card that can let you access both stylus and SD card while plugged in, but the best price I can find is around $150.
You kidding me? Mot v60 for ATT should be free! If you don't believe it, open up a Chinese newspaper! (ok you don't have to read Chinese, but if you see a picture of v60 with AT&T's logo in the same box, dial the # and inquire)
Although 80/40 sounds a lot less than 150+, but when do you really look at a monitor at more than 20 degrees from the center? The rise/fall times seem ok too. At 18.1" I think it's a hot buy!
Quotes from Toms Hardware:
(MX420) ... Its 166 MHz SDRAM memory will slow down the performance of the GeForce4 MX chip so much that it will hardly perform any better than previous GeForce2 MX400 cards that you can get for a mere 50 bucks.
...none of the GeForce4 MX cards has full DirectX 8.x...
How can a LCD be 18" and 17.4" viewable? That's not possible. If this is 17.4" then go with Planar from Dell. You can get 15% off $699 and free shipping.
I don't like DVI on my All-In-Wonder Radeon because it doesn't scale in some games. i.e. if a game is set to less than the native resolution, you will only get actual pixels and not a scaled out image to fill the entire screen.
I will probably pick up a Planar 18" with Svideo and mount it on...
IMO this game is not worth anything. If you played Virtual Tennis, it's fun, fast, and easy to pickup; this game is slower, worse graphics, and very different playing. The only thing better than Virtual Tennis is the front cover.
Same here. Where is the extra $50?
(I had to reject the shipment of the Gateway server. Ran out of money from hot deals by the time Gateway shipped...)
Does anyone know if it plays well with WMAs? If so I am very interested. I just finished a project to convert 200+ CDs to WMAs. Also, does it come with the card to plug inside the PC?
For that price I would rather get a bright LCD projector (or even DLP). Shoot on a screen or bright wall you can get native 1024x768 at that price. You can totally conceal it too.
Heck I placed an order with Office Depot. Figure I will call Amex tomorrow and if the $250 doesn't go through, I will cancel order with OD immediately. I will update status.
Order this laptop from Office Depot with the 20% off $50 deal (find link elsewhere). The item # is 127314. After discount it's $1,200 before tax.
Go thru ebates for 2% off ($24)
Price match Amex Blue with this site GPS Computer Services to get $250 difference.
Compaq has $100 rebate here...
Got an email from Earthlink, Season's Greetings for being a customere. They included a $10 gift certificate.
I usually delete Earthlink's regular emails, so in case you do the same, don't delete this one by accident.
I love Dell for letting us order out of stock items. Take advantage of great promos, don't pay until shipped, and can cancel anytime inbetween. They are very informative about estimated shipping date too. I had waited once on a all-in-one printer which they soon took off their web page after...
With all these FRS radio deals I ended up buying 4 pairs of various brands. Gave away Kenwood (Amazon), and then Panasonic 325 (Amazon), now I am keeping the Motorola 6300 (OD) the Cobra PR1000 (OD). Haven't tried the Cobra yet but the Motorola feels good in your hand and has nice features...
I was just going to post the Yamaha deal, you beat me to it. The model number is the same as on the Yamaha website, I don't see why not. The only restriction is the no warehouse.
Specs
Rebate Form
I ordered 4 and received them today, all in shrink wraps. The model number is WDE18310-9042A1. They are indeed Enterprise model Ultra2 LVD, 80pin. But doing a search on the website showed no results under this model number. The only one I could find online was WDE18310-0042.
