Pretty complicated topic...but if you discrad everything then decide to use Olive Oil, you are also in a minefield, as even if it is Extra Virgin it still might be crap oil. Udo Erasmus said the only stuff you should fry in...is water (the joker). Soggy...but better for you. Article about...

AMD built-in GPU - does Win8 have native drivers?

I would say the APU graphics performance is better than any reviews seem to demonstrate. Perhaps just maturity of drivers.

Why would you make a more powerful card with fewer Texture units?

You can't compare like for like here, it is like saying a Pentium 4 3.8Ghz should be quicker than a 2.4ghz Core 2 duo, because it has more 'Gigahertz'. Or that a 2.0 Ford is more powerful than a 1.8 Toyota, when one may have 130bhp and the other 190bhp.

Asus AM1L-A

It turns out this board is very fussy about ram, I got some Kingston 1866 working with it, but it didn't like three other sets....big warning for anyone considering it ! So now it works...after 20 odd hours wasted. Thanks for all the replies

A Kingston Ssd, tried ahci, ice and another two drives. Just tried a Win 8 iso and no bsod just reboot crash at same point in installation.

Car feels "sluggish", stutters a bit.

As mentioned by some, sounds like Fuel Filter. I had a Subaru WRX STI and it had this kind of flat spot, but only in 2nd and 3rd at 4000rpm which made me thing it was a computer issue, it was, but caused by needing a new fuel filter....not logical but obviously the ECU got upset with the old filter.

HardOCP Battlefield 4 beta performance test

It is using 2.8 gigs for me, and that's not even maxed, I have the AA deferred, or whatever its called, turned off, 1920x1080.

CPU upgrade, Crysis 3, and my expectations

A friend had an E8600 clocked to the max and he 'upgraded' by finding a Q9550 on ebay, he has a GTX570, once overclocked, his BF3 multiplayer settings went from 20 to 38. I think Bit Tech has the worst....if its not the latest Intel Quad it is Sh1t mentality, but if you are on a budget...

All I have is an old Xeon W3530 which is essentially a Core i7 930 from 2008/2009 or whenever the 930 came out, similar to the 920 just a tad faster, slow ECC ram at 1066 and a slow hard drive, and the CPU usage is not even taxing the old girl....it seems BF4 is more GPU biased than BF3 is, or...

GPU or APU

Something like a 5770/6770 or 7750 would be the minimum worthwhile purchase, if you have a card already, then that is a different matter. Just a 4850 is old, and doesn't have the features a 6800k apu graphics core has, such as, DX11 etc etc.

Help with Win 7 HP

I just got a Dell T3500 with a win 7 Pro COA sticker on its top, I paid basically peanuts for the machine, but when I try and activate it, it says, invalid, then in use or something like that. I can only presume, someone has poached the key for another machine, as this came from a mass reseller...

Any diet pills actually work ?

Sudafed contains Pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine has absolutely no thermogenic or appetite suppresive effects and is therefore useless for anything weight loss related. Ephedrine does, Pseudoephedrine doesn't.

WTF is up with used mac prices

A Maybe a fifth or less for a decent Core 2 PC on Ebay, whereas (what will now be) hopelessly slow, Core 2 based Xeon dual core Mac Pro's still fetch loads.

I'm old enough to remember Thatcher and before her, James Callaghan who was was Prime Minister under Labour. I think Thatcher did some good and bad things (to be honest like most Politicians) but most of the people who are slating her legacy have NO idea about the period under James Callaghan...

Ah yeah, the torque figure is misleading anyway as the gears these cars run are way higher than petrols, even 7 speed auto's. I remember them marketing the Skoda Fabia VRS 1.9 TDI here as having as much torque as a Porsche Boxster....yet it was not even nearly as quick, in any...

I really like what Mercedes has done with the C Class Coupe-update: Test Drove a C350

They are going to bring out the C350 diesel variant here, the spec of that engine is 2987cc 24v V6, 261bhp @ 3800rpm, 457lb ft. A big improvement on the 200 or so of the C250. I have driven a C350 estate fully loaded and it pulls like a train...better i'd say than a 535D with people in it.
