Intel should just buy 7nm technologies from IBM, TSMC, GF, Samsung or whoever else has the technology and use that tech in their fabs. They could buy it for pocket change.

It says it has a one year manufacturer warranty for tray processors.
With regards to pricing, compsource was pretty close to msrp at 515 usd. Compsource includes no retail packing, only OEM packaging.
With regards to Ram 3200mhz is probably sufficient, above 3200mhz you run into the issue of the law of diminishing returns. Plus Intel isn't as dependent on...
I bit the bullet and bought the Core i9 9900k from compsource. The 9900k is expensive but in my view worth it. My previous computer got borked and I sold the working components. The motherboard, cooler, GPU and CPU haven't arrived yet.
My specs
CPU: Intel Core i9 9900k
Motherboard: MSI MPG...
Here are my predictions for what the next generation of consoles. I am not sure what Nintendo will do, but most likely they will try to ride off of the switch's success and improve upon it.
A much higher starting price tag: 500-650 dollars minimum.
A 2022 - 2024 timeframe for release...
Ok I managed to overclock my AMD Ryzen 1700 to 3.9GHZ by increasing the multiplier in the bios from 190 to 195. Now at the overclocked speed, it is outperforming a Core I7-5960x. Even at the exact same clock-speed

The package indicator-cpufreq enables Linux users to graphically set their CPU governor. If you have a Ryzen processsor and are running linux then you should set the CPU governor to performance. The Ondemand Governor is the default governor and it switches between base 1.5ghz and whatever the...

Even though the title says Vulkan, it also improves performance in OpenGL. I changed the CPU governor to performance mode. The difference is substantial. Lag in...
So far I am happy camper. I overclocked my my Ryzen 7 1700 with my Asus B350 Plus motherboard and the latest bios. I am running 3.8ghz stable at 1.3v. Mutiplier set to 190 and divide set to 10 (do at your own discretion). I am running Fedora 25 with the 4.9 linux 64 bit kernel. I benchmarked...
I think it's unrealistic to expect AMD to best Intel. Even Intel can't exceed their own single threaded performance due to the performance wall of current technology. There isn't some magical technology that will lead large leaps in single threaded performance.
Achieving 90% of Intel's single...
I installed all my components and got everything working with no fuss at all. Just go to set up Fedora 25, the live usb detected all the components. I am gonna do that tomorrow to get some sleep, it always takes me a few hours to configure distros to be just the way I want them. Happy Ryzen...
It's not as good at gaming as Intel solutions, but it's not a gigantic difference. Xeons aren't as good at games as Core processors in games but it still plays them with good performance. Ryzens are similar in this regard. Good for gaming, but not as good.
I got my Asus B350 motherboard. I haven't assembled my build. Interestingly it says on the box that there is support for ECC memory. Not something I use, but an interesting feature none the less.
When I go to Anandtech whether it be the main website or forum it very often gives me this intrusive and fraudulent pop-up claiming my device has virus (tech support scams, oldest trick in the book).
You guys need to do something these ads are very invasive and annoying. I am fine with a banner...
I think for what Ryzen is it is a good Processor architecture. Mostly it is what is possible to offer consumers the most advanced with today's technology at a 320 to 500 usd price. It isn't quite at Intel's level in terms of IPC or frequency, but it still offers a lot at around 90% of Intel's...
For hard drives I go with Hitachi, even when used they are good quality and last a long time. My Hitachi laptop drives that I am recycling still work and are well over five years old.
The Ryzen 1700 should be a fine performer. Canard PC had engineering sample clocked at speeds similar to the 1700 without many of its features disabled and it still performed quite well. Overclocking should enable even better performance.
I want greater core count for non gaming tasks like...
I'd go with the Ryzen 1700(non x) and get a water cooler like the Corsair H60. Overclock for better performance. You get a cooler system than you would with the 1700x or 1800x and you achieve similar performance.
