Guys, I discovered the same thing by adding a second stick of DDR to my system. If you look at the specs it says the 222 settings are for a single stick of DDR. When you add another, those settings change (232, I believe). Apparently, there is added latency when using dual channel.

I just got mine and it had a pink piece of paper at the top:
ADDED BONUS: You have just received a higher performance hard drive at no extra cost!
The drive you have received is a Western Digital Special Edition hard drive which features 8 MB cache buffer.
etc., etc, etc.
So, 180GB w/ 8MB...
It depends on your current credit predicament. If you have none and manage to miraculously get approved, it will help. If you have "bad" or troubled credit and are miraculously approved, you have a chance to improve your standing. If you have "Good" credit and are approved, it can help or...
It's not necessarily "bad", but I wanted the 7500! I really want the 9000, but the delay is more than I can bear. I searched for benchmarks on this chipset, but couldn't find anything. I believe this should be the equicelant of the R100 (First Radeon). This can play games, but not very well...
***OK, UPDATE***
Here's how to get the 32MB card instead of the 16MB video card.
Go to HP Shopping and then click on Notebooks. Then on "Customizable notebooks". Here's the secret, instead of clicking on "customize" on the "featured customizations", INSTEAD ... use the drop boxes and select...
How do you do this? When I try, it says only one coupon can be used. If there is a way to save an additional 5% that would be nice. Some instructions would be nice!.
I'm a student of life, does that count? ;)
OK, I'll try it tomorrow ... simply for the 32MB Video card!
ALSO, read my post here for the coupon code. I didn't post the 10% code here, because Anand has a "No Coupon" policy. If I can't link to another deal site, please let me know and I'll fix it.
Very helpful! Was it easy to use the 10% off code over the phone? Did you get the free shipping too? I'll try that, thanks!
I don't understand why they would offer a 16MB video card by default either. When you click on the 5000 it clearly says, "Desktop Replacement". I don't think a 16MB...
I know my post was confusing, I guess the point is you can get a comparible system to the Dell 2650SE for $1139.89 after $100 MIR.
OR if you are like me and are willing to forego the DVD\CDRW combo for a DVD, you can buy it for $1049.89.
I started to buy the Dell 2650SE, but I tend to over research purchase decisions and thought I?d share the findings of another laptop deal I found. Please look over this and let me know if you would purchase this or the 2650SE for the money.
HP @ www.hpshopping.com
($1261.00 + $59.99...
I do understand that! My point it the deal isn't really $979.10 shipped, but $979.10 + tax. I suppose I will need to sleep on it, I really want one of the HP's @ CC, but they are still oos. :(
The deal breaker for me is sales tax ... when you factor your total, are you forgetting to add sales tax or is there a way around it? From my understanding, if it's purchased in Dell Business, you must pay sales tax ... unless you are tax exempt.
Thanks for the corrected link, sometimes this wireless keyboard misses characters. BTW, there still doesn't appear to be much of a difference between 64MB & 128MB on identical video cards.
I'd stick with the 8500, even the 8500LE because they outperform the 9000 series. At any rate, it is a great price for a very decent card:

Evadman, are you sure the CPU is a retail unit? It is back in stock, so I bought the combo. It's for a Linux box I'm building and seeing how badly I want to have it up and running, I'd like to have a fan on hand if needed. So, are you sure it's retail? All it says is "Boxed".
Thanks!
Sorry man, but Dell deals definitely don't last for 2 months. Thanks for getting me excited though, I was ready to buy it. :disgust:
I guess I should have looked at the dates too!
I noticed this at Best Buy. Remember the cheap Crucial DDR? I had a stick in my basket, but Best Buy wouldn't deliver it and all my local stores were sold out. About 3 months later it was still in my basket for the same price ($30 I think), while prices on the website were around $90 a piece...
Sorry May, but I'm still lost. I called and the first thing I was asked if this was a personal or business acct. I had another call, so had to go ... but please PM me the instructions. Sorry to be such a pain :(.
If you look at the original post, he mentions a 15" LCD and a 17" LCD. Had me confused too! :)
BTW, do you have to be a Staples business customer to use this coupon? What if I am just an individual???
Does anyone here know the actual dimensions of these cables? I know some are 24" and some are 36", but how far apart are the connectors? The IDE connector (plugs into motherboard) is 24" from the Master connector, but how far away is it from the Slave Connector? I need to know if it will do...
<< There is not a large company in the world that will operate on a loss <period> >>
MAN, you must not own any stocks! I wish that were true, but they do it all the time. In actuality, most "large companies" run into a period where they do nothing but run at a loss. Go hit a couple of the...
Does anyone know if you can pick these up at local stores, such as CompUSA??? I'm in Atlanta and will probably order from SVC, but would love to have them NOW! :D
I have a 24X TDK burner and two hard drives. I have my 100GB storage drive on the same ribbon as the 24X burner and my primary...
This review didn't find much difference between the top 5 brands. There is hardly any noticeable difference between AS2 and AS3. He does mention that this could change over time, but he's unable to devote his testing systems long enough!
<< SVCompucycle
AS2/3 cheap as hell with free shipping. >>
Thanks Madcow, I will be sure to bookmark this site. On a side note, I have wanted to buy some of the rounded IDE cables for some time. I see that SVC sells them for $5.99. Is this a good price? Also, when is Serial ATA slated to...
