If you can find a good price on a gently used 980ti (I just discovered that EVGA warranty transfers remaining warranty to new owner) you could do that, or wait until June (thats what I read) for new stuff to be up for sale... those could be in short supply at first or have the price set high for...
I just picked up an EVGA 980 Ti SC ACX 2.0+
Great card, runs at 60c in my well ventilated pc case running 4k games
The warranty is transferable if you ever want to sell it
I had a 970 by EVGA that has been nothing but great too.
Real world experience... thanks for the input.
Thanks for all the replies from everyone else too. I think I am running CS5, so it shouldn't matter too much either way.
Maybe Nvidia will get OpenCL optimized support eventually too.
Any reason why?
Also does anyone know how much faster a 560ti is compared to a vanilla 560? Games not really a driving factor, but might as well with an i7.
I read somewhere that CS6 would perform better with AMD because Adobe optimized for OpenCL more. Is this so? Same for CS5?
I was looking at either a 6870 or a GTX 560 to go with an i7 3770.
No microcenter. Total budget is about a grand.
Audio doesnt matter because I have a very high quality external DAC. Dont need sli or xfire either.
Just these two boards...which is more solid.
Im looking at building a 3770 system for hi res photoshop stuff.
Its been a long time since I have read up on anything. Im not sure which board would be preferred for a non-OC'ed build.
Both are around the same price at $117 or so.
