Is there anyway to overclock or improve the performance of Clovetrail Atom Z2640?

I wanted to see if cutting down the switch time will help reduce the lag. And even at full load, the tablet does not heat up. So, I'm convinced that higher burstable speeds like 2.4GHz may be possible. I just need high CPU speed for less than a minute, it's not as if I'm running Prime95 on it...

I'm using a Clovetrail Atom Windows 8 tablet, and the performance leaves much to be desired. Personally, I would be OK with sacrificing some of the insane 10+ hr battery life for more juice. Core i is not an option for me, because the 5ish battery life is not good enough. The CPU seems to...

Resolution chase on mobile devices is stupid, is GPU advancements keeping up?

I was running a few benchmarks on the S2 and S3, and the graphics performance was not significantly better than my S1. We're not talking about playing 3D games here, but responsiveness/lag-time of the device. So your statement that we're getting better framerates and resolution may be correct...

You're missing the point. The resolution chase negates whatever performance improvement we get in GPU advancements.

Does anyone else think the resolution chase in mobile devices is getting out of hand? We've gone from 800 x 480 just 2 generations ago (Galaxy S2) to Full HD 1920 x 1080 (Galaxy S4). Sure it's nice to have a high resolution screen, but I think we're reaching the point of diminishing returns...

Clovertrail Atom GPU as fast as Core i GPU?!

I found an interesting article on another forum, and thought I would highlight the keypoints here. It seems that the high-end smartphone/tablet GPUs of 2012 are equivalent to the GPU in the 1st generation Core i chips released in 2010!!! The upcoming Clovertrail Atom is rumored to use a PowerVR...

Times are bad in this post-flood Seagate/WD duopoly world. Does anyone have any recommendations for *RELIABLE* HDD that have > 2 TB capacity? The old Samsung F4 series which were extremely reliable is now gone, since Seagate has bought it over. The current series of Seagate Green Drives...
