The 760 is even giving the 7970 a run for it's money. Impressive card for the price. Could end up being the best card of this generation.
So high end graphics are able to sell at a higher price so that means it's going to die? AMD will be gone long before the high end graphics market is gone. One is making money, the other is not.
So he constantly foresees doom and gloom for NVIDIA and prosperity for AMD? Yet the reverse happens. Nothing but FUD really. He should look up Rory's last job and see why AMD hired him.
NVIDIA is at least a generation ahead of AMD. With out competition NVIDIA will focus it's high end on HPC and use its midrange on the gamer market. AMD has slipped too much this generation. it may end up being their worst release yet.
Tegra is making money unlike AMD. NVIDIA is the graphics leader by far in terms of marketshare and performance. Looks like a smart move to get money from comapnies that make their own SoC.
Some people are so filled with hate it clouds their judgement.
They have had console contracts for several years and yet are constantly losing money. The WiiU has been out already and they still posted another loss last quarter. Your opinion is not supported by facts.
A desperate move by AMD. Instead of bribing developers to limit performance on Intel and NVIDIA parts, they should spend it improving their own hardware and drivers. I'm not surprised that EA is involved, they have a habit of screwing their customers.
All this in order to boost benchmarks at...
So NVIDIA has the top 3 chips right now. That would place the 7970 square in the midrange. It should be $300 or so. I wonder what they can do with their current chip to get it up to the level of the GK110.
Pure fps numbers are a terrible measure of game play. Now that FCAT exists and can show how smooth a card is actually playing each game it should be the primary benchmarking tool. Saying card x gets 50 fps so it is better than card y that gets 45 fps can be very misleading.
I posted yesterday that the 7 series was launched along with Haswell.

AMD is no longer competition for NVIDIA. NVIDIA could have launched the GK110 early last year if the wanted to but it would have cut into the 680 sales. If you...
Now that we have a way of accurately benchmarking gameplay performance with FCAT, reviews that do not use it are incomplete. Nobody watches a FPS meter while they play, but they sure notice stutter while playing. This really needs to be included in every review.
The PS4 and xbox one are already using outdated tech. Really the Titan and the 7xx series are the best we are going to see for awhile. AMD has settled on being a mid to low end supplier so don't expect much there.
Consoles sure did not help the PowerPC architecture. Having a chip in the 360 did not seem to give AMD any advantage. Consoles are becoming set top box media servers, that also play games.
That's from 2010. So despite game bundles and price cuts they are bleeding marketshare. Most likely due to stuttering issues that they still have not fixed. You get what you pay for.
Their stock is way down from a year ago. Not that any increase matters. The real issue is their revenue and assetts have declined while their debt has increased. This is what drives a company to its grave, not stock prices.
You are comparing the 7970 to a card from the previous generation and the Titan to a card from the current generation. If the 7970 was faster than a GK110 they could sell it for whatever they want. Sadly it was not even faster than the 104. Now more 110 cards are coming and AMD won't have...

It seems like there might be some sort of short term affect, but are they a big enough player anymore for it to cause much of a change long term.
I wonder why no one from the advocacy group has come forwrd. I imagine they are instructed to stay hidden. I see how hostile AMD fans are to this topic, even though it should not be a big deal. Why are they trying to get this thread locked and bury the issue?
Wow this post exploded since I was last here. The reddit page seemed very interesting, why are some people so angry. I thought someone here might be in this program and could give us more information.
