Well Anand reviewed it with newer drivers it's about the same(sometime a little lesser/more) then a 4600 except for AA in which is does much better. So probably better to get a directx9 9500 pro with potential to improve even more then a 4600 who's resale value will start going down faster.
EJ
Faced that question last tuesday. I chose the 9500 pro. Sheesh bought mine from mwave for 205 on tuesdays and they were outta stock now they have it in stock for 188! :(

Rav3n gets a cookie for guessing the brand of the hard drive :)
It did finally die and my Aunt lost her xp product key. I had to install Windows ME on her new drive. :(
Sorry I couldn't have replied sooner, harddrive gone and cable internet died about the same time.
Thanks for all your...
Have a hard drive that sometimes makes the clicking noise and computer freezes. Sometime it's possible to continue(of course it will start clicking again) , other times it hard locks and have to reboot.
Sometime when I reboot the hard drive doesn't even get recognized.
So is this fixable...
Got it to work but still strange that the 25 ft cable was the only one to work.
I updated the bios boot agent on the NIC ROM. Now the shorter cables work and both lights turn on.
Now I'm sharing my internet connection! WOO :)
EJ
Actually there are optical sensors. There are wheels ,with grooves, attached to the rods the mouse ball makes spin. The sensors watch the grooves of those wheels.
EJ
Yeah Both work with the 25 ft wire. Can't test the win98 computer with the smaller wires because it's in the other room.
And the 5-6 feet wires aren't crossover since I got the same brand wire(as the 25 foot) and also tried the wire that came with the router.
Thanks,
EJ
Figure this out please :)
Setting up new SMC router. Two computers one with XP with Intel(R) Pro/100+ Management Nic (original w/cable modem attached) and the other with Win98 and Linksys Nic(in other room). Tried all day to get the XP machine to work and the router just wouldn't link...
Yeah cause I'm pretty sure it's just good custom drivers that make the Razer actually use it's high dpi. Most mice use default windows control for their sensitivity (pixel skipping).
A good optical with Razer drivers would be nice :)
EJ
You can get info running it in WinXP here http://razer.tigga.org/
Razer is the best mouse out there. It actually lets you use the higher dpi it has. If you raise or lower your Razer sensitivity in it's control panel you don't lose any pixel precision(unlike optical mice).
Too bad the company...
Actually not too complicated and looks similar, well to a point anyway :)
void DisplayVerse(const char* const Noun, const char* const Sound);
Probably a little easier to write if you also made some const char const * of other phrases.
You can leave out the const keyword if your class is not...
I try to stay away from anything cordless but the logitech keyboard you mention looks pretty neat.
Peter, thanks now your making me think more about getting one :).
EJ
Was wondering if there's a keyboard with a light touch space bar out there? I use/hit space bar a lot for games and typing. It's a pain having to press so far down on the spacebar. I've broken 2 keyboards trying to modify them.
I guess it doesn't have to be egonomic but that would be great to...
Actually kt is right. You should just be able to change it to int main() and it should compile and run correctly.
Remember to read from left to right. Ptr is a pointer to a constant char(s). Ptr2 is a constant pointer to a char.
You can change the char(s) ptr2 points to because ptr2 is a...
If you call CDialog::onCancel it calls EndDialog which makes the dialog invisible but doesn't destroy it. Maybe that's the reason, you need to override OnCancel and call DestroyWindow.
Probably not it though, I'm using V5.0 and just learning.
EJ
I know you said you checked but just to be sure, was your monitor's color mode changed to 6500k or maybe less? That will give it a pink tint as well.
Might want to check your monitors color profile too. control panel -> display -> settings -> advanced -> color management (or something like...
When I first installed my p4 I thought I had locked both sides of the heat sink in place. But I hadn't and after my heart attack (jk) I reseated it and temps went down. Not sure if thats it but you might want to check.
EJ
Can you hit your spacebar and/or click your mouse button to turn your computer back on?
Might be an option in your bios for this that keeps the lights on.
EJ
Still have doubts after more testing...
Heat - I have program called CPU Stability Test that when run on CPU Warming Only setting will run the cpu 2 degree's hotter then Prime95.
Memory - Running Sandra Memory Bandwidth Benchmark 10 times in a row produced an error(reboot/black screen) but...
I have bad ram then :( . Wish I new to test the ram using Sandra's Memory bandwidth benchmark when I bought it.
If you don't have this app go here. Download SiSoftware Sandra Standard and run the Burn-In Wizard. Leave everything at default except only select Memory Bandwidth Benchmark and set...
Try underclocking your Ram. Not sure what ratio you use but as an example from my computer I had my computer at 4:5 cpu to memory ratio. It would reboot under heavy memory load. Switched it to 4:3 and it worked fine. That was just a test though. 1:1 ratio would have probably worked as well and...
Actually Prime95 and Starcraft task the vcore the same on my computer -0.05. Though that might because I have one of those power supplies that give you more juice when you need it. Got to look more into that.
Ran Prime95(12 hrs) at 1.550 same as starcraft. Of course tested those other volts...
Thought I had went through all of Sandra's modules...
Anyway Sandra has a module called Burn-In Wizard that'll automatically run the bandwidth test as many times as you want. And I had been using that dang refresh button :).
EJ
Not sure what you're saying. Of course Starcraft ran fine on your old cpu but if your old cpu was overclocked beyond it's limits Starcraft would probably crash.
If you look at my first post and how it scales it shows it's the cpu that is failing it. I omitted other scores to keep it simple but...
Starcraft - for testing cpu stability. Warcraft 3 uses poly's so more work is done on the video card then Starcraft. Haven't purchased W3 yet :( Still getting over moving.
EJ
I have.
My post is more a slap at Prime95 since it couldn't tell me for 12 hours what starcraft could for 5 minutes :P. I was perfectly happy at 2133 but someone in this forum who will remain nameless (Thugs...) made me want more power from all his cool exploits.
EJ
Good luck on overclocking :)
Video Card - 3dmark 2001SE
Memory - SiSoft Sandra Standard version . Run Memory Bandwidth Benchmark 10 times in a row by using Burn-In Wizard. If you make 5 in a row your memory is probably fine for normal use. 10 times in a row is probably stable.
Cpu - Buy...
Yeah but look how it scales compared to how much voltage I give the CPU. A driver error wouldn't be that consistant.
Why doesn't the driver error happen when the cpu it at 1.600 volts? I've tested many settings for many days before posting.
EJ
Yep much more fun testing my CPU then prime95 :D.
I would like someone else to test this out too. Someone that knows their cpu it unstable at a lower voltage because maybe my computer is just weird.
I was playing against 1 computer not on the internet.
Thanks,
EJ
I ran Prime95 for 12 hours with no problems but Starcraft would kick me out to windows in under 5 minutes(against 1 computer not on the internet). Pretty strange I thought because the cpu was 1 degree cooler runing Starcraft then it was with Prime95 torture test. So I did some test shown below...
MS wants me to go through hoops and/or pay for a file to fix a problem. Anyone have ndis.vxd version 4.10.0.2000 dated 28-Nov-2001 size 157,909. My e-mail is ericjvh@hotmail.com or here.
You can see the knowledge base article here if you want to know about the problem.
Thanks,
EJ
Well I don't want to take a chance that the ocz 2700 is just 2100 oc'd. So I rma'd it (easy, thanks Newegg!). I picked up s0me samsung ram that actually states it's not overclocked 2100 ddr.
EJ
Yeah I am a little worried about the ps I bought since I had to settle on one I've never heard of but did have 23 positive reviews. The Antec one I was going to buy had a good 3.3v 5v rail but went outta stock before I could order.
Oh well :(
