Thanks, Giantpandaman. I'll look into the Vaio. My daughter has a Vaio and loves it. Nerp - We've upgraded already over the years. She's finally decided it's just not fast enough. Could all be in her head, but I promised I would look at new models with faster CPUs.

Got it. Thanks. The SSD is plugged into an Intel SATA III port, not the Marvell port. Also, the so-called F6 procedure (loading the Intel drivers during install) is not required under Win 7 or 8, correct?
