First off, it's not a routing issue. The issue is a browsing problem between the two Windows 98 machines. I would recommend blowing away the network settings on the box downstairs and recreate it with the exact same properties as the machine upstairs. It might also be helpful to make the...
I'm building a system for a friend of mine and wanted to know if this HSF was any good or just for show. I've never installed one (CORB) - Is there any thing special that I need to know? What type of temps should I expect w/o overclocking with a case that has great air flow?
I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sites to buy these cases that can be paired with Enermax power supplies. I'm looking to buy a Lian-Li case with an Enermax 330W Whisper PS. I know about directron.com - are there any other places?
Thanks,
Lee
Hey guys I just put a Alpha P3125 on my P3 933 OCed to 1037 and my reported temps via the bios indicator is 30C. I'm using no-brand termal compound that came with the HSF. My question is if this is satisfactory and what other steps can I take to get a better measurement of my cooling. Also...
I agree, purchase a new HSF it should improve your cooling tremendously. Also if you feel adventurous you might want to modify your case and place a fan at the top. It makes sense to draw heat out of the case where it rises.
Good Luck,
Lee
I was just providing an example of a popular PS, I know (believe me) Enermax has a terrific and better quality rating. If you want power go with the Enermax.
I would not advise having all that stuff working under a 250W PS. I you have the money buy a 300/350 FortronSource/Sparkle PS they seem have a higher quality. As far as your temps go...43C appears to be high, however; I have the same proc./HSF and post the your same temps...still working on a...
KGBMAN is giving good advice. I spend all day in PS and Illustrator and Win2k is so much better at handling things. Dual boot to Win98/ME for any games.
It can't hurt to go with a AMD approved power supply since they tend to be a higher quality. Personally, I would go with the FortronSource/Sparkle PS they have worked for me in all of my system builds.
Artic Silver seems to be a good choice, it has worked for me on several chip/HSF setups. I've found that the trick lies in how you apply the compound and how your <insert fav. HSF combo> sits on the compound.
