Brand new build.
10850k
32gb C14 3600mhz
860 Corsair PSU
1080ti Auros
970 Evo M.2 SSD 1TB
First install : Issues getting drivers to unzip and install... weird.
Next day got Black Screen on post and cant see anything no access to bios.
Wipe CMOS
Second install : Drivers work. PC works fine...
Most cant justify the cost or afford it to begin with.
Most people i know have high end PCs by one metric or another.
Consoles are for kids.
I dont need marketing to feel the benefits of 120 fps gsync 1440p or M.2 SSD speeds and 5ghz processing power.
A gaming PC is a minor cost compared to...
Compared to what? America with a murder rate higher than the third world? No healthcare system without insurance or higher education that costs a small fortune to then work for a company who gives you hardly any annual leave.
I hope they do ban crypto. Ill never need it or touch it and i hope...
I have guns. you just have to get a licence.
Japan and Aus.. hardly a big deal. dodgy porn is legal in Japan so i wouldnt get hung up on what they think is ok.
Aus also doesnt have more freedoms, they just banned assault looking weapons lol.
Not a day goes by where someone loses millions...
When the UK makes trading crypto illegal i will watch and laugh at the losses people are going to see.
There is zero need for a crypto currency, the energy waste is crazy and criminals and terrorist states like north korea and Iran are using it to get around embargo.
Its screwing the PC...
Can someone do a test with what clocks are needed to match sandy ivy and Haswell in performance.
Ie. What clock is required to get better performance versus last 2 chips
Not very smart.
You dont put your business name on record slamming intels latest CPU or you might find you can no longer buy them at wholesale prices. Also Intel pulls its rebates and other support and suddenly your business is dead.
Another Balla classic comment.
yes i saw the same thing. But apparently they are not stable and have to be backed off 200mhz.
It seems 22nm has been continually tweaked for lower power at the expense of performance.
Are you one of these corporate monkeys who are only here to defend the interests of corporations?
4 OEM system builders who specialise in overclocked systems have come out and said Haswell is hot and doesnt clock as well as Ivy.
Your response is what exactly? flat out denial?
And you can take...
They called the people in tin foil hats a bunch of conspiracy theorists until the Guardian in the UK broke the story of the US NSA and PRISM.
If there is smoke there is always fire.
Nothing. Thats why the chips should be purchased from retail.
But ES samples should not be used. At least retail boxes with retail chips are going to be closer than ES though.
People should not be reviewing ES Samples. Period.
This kind of thing needs to stop. Retail chips in sealed boxes should be used to review a product. Especially the K series chips.
Intel has been sending out ES samples which are far superior than the retail chips.
Back to its old tricks.
4.2ghz and 15c hotter at stock! than ES sample chips sent for review.

I was looking for a haswell build...
120hz will never take off with 4k on the horizon.
Games are made with 60 FPS in mind and GPU's are too.
CPU's cant handle 120fps either in new games.
Basically 120hz will never be anything other than a niche product for games that arent very demanding.
i have never seen the point in paying extra for these coolers. They often cost a fortune on top of the reference card. They offer no real benefit given that i have often clocked lower on these cards than the reference cards. I gave up on them when i got a windforce and it offered a few degrees...
Why is there a TDP wall?
They can scale down clock speed and use a way better cooler and you can keep pushing up the TDP.
Also the consumer GPU market is just a place where Nvidia dumps its broken tesla chips. If they didnt have the pro market they wouldnt bother making huge die GPU's at...
The reason why the 7970 is their biggest GPU is because they dont have a bigger design. Nothing to do with TDP.
GK110 was designed for their Tesla chips. Not a gaming GPU by design. This is obvious because making huge GPU's is costly and without Tesla would probably be unprofitable.
You...
You can do something about it actually.
1) Not buy it.
2) Help others make informed choices which affect the sales of the overpriced cards thus hurting sales.
I often read the comments on product reviews and often there is a general consensus on those comments and that affects your view of...
Making people think a $650 780 GTX is good value because Titan is $1000 is Nvidia marketing at its best.
There is no way people would accept the price of the 780 GTX without the Titan.
Consumers generally fail to see through this.
550mm2 of silicon seems to cost a heck of alot more today than it did in the past. Especially if you buy it from Nvidia.
Its all marketing and clever pricing to manipulate their customers.
Mars do the same. Have you ever wondered why a Mars bar costs 50% more but is 25% smaller than it was...
I dont think Nvidia will be able to deliver a 20nm Titan for $1000. If their own presentation slides are to be believed then a 550mm2 20nm Titan will be double the cost to make.
AMD should make a 300mm2 GPU and forget compute and go for high end gaming performance in a small GPU priced well...
