Is Overclocking Sandy/Ivy Bridge really worth it for me?

I play BF3 and Bad Company 2 and I wouldn't go back to stock speed for anything. I'm @ 4.2 on stock voltage. When chit starts happening the advantage is obvious.

Looking to upgrade to 120hz, upgrades needed?

my x-fi fatality finally died...

I can hear the difference between an AC 97 Codec Driven On board sound and my discreet Audigy 4 sound card. Then again I'm an audio snob. I'd never go back to onboard sound and NO its not percieved.

In my experience ATI/AMD cleaned up after the 5xxxx series. The drivers are much better now and are on par with Nvidia, I have Own BOTH nvida and AMD. Furthermore, usually AMD is quick about tweeking drivers as soon as major games hit beta. Don't sweat AMD drivers, thats generally a concern...

ATI/AMD Driver issues pretty much got squashed or on par for performance after the 5xxxx Series. O and you should see the raging about GUILD Wars 2 and NVIDIA drivers.. LULZ U nvidia fan boys

5850 Owner Here. Bought in @ 300$ price point which really hurt at the time but nvidia's next generation was no where in site and I wanted to play Bad Company 2. I game @ 1680X1050 so an upgrade is a LONGGGGGGGGGG time coming
