I use a G620 in my media server and don't have any issues either. I don't do a lot of trans coding but when I do I have no problems . A tad slower ... but really doesn't bother me
I've had mine about six months now .
It really is a fine piece of tech and for the most part works very well . It can be a bit touchy to set up especially the part where you have to get involved with your cable provider . I got lucky and did a LOT of reading and got a 1) English speaking phone...

Don't mean to shout but you really need to re think anything to do with Vizio as far as tv goes . I have a 42" Razor edge lit that shuts off on it's own 2 or 3 times before it "apparently" warms up then it is fine .... real pita !!
Plasma burn in is a thing way in the past ...
I would reiterate what assassin has said and would add the following :
1) Take a pill and chill ! "I hate my life" would be indicative of a high frustration level . It's a htpc ... no more , no less . I suggest a break.
2) Frag the the os drive and start over . Re read the Assassin guides ...

Indeed ... I really have enjoyed using the Goliath server and you are correct , the Fractal case used is just amazing . So many features that you will own it for a while before you really discover all of them . You will not go wrong with this case if this is what you decide .

Most folks agrees that if you have at least an Intel i3 with 3000 series graphics or an i3 Ivybridge that with light gaming you should try the igpu first and then if your not happy move onto a discrete video card .
The extra noise and heat dump in a htpc from a discrete video card...

I use a 5 - 2tb set up (data) with a 320 gig hdd for the os and a single 3 tb hdd for the parity drive .
Flex in conjunction with WHS 2011 is so feature rich and easy to use and as far as servers are concerned , easy to set up as well .

BTW.... yes you are correct . The G620 will not do 3d . You must get into the i3 series for that.
Just got finished reading the i3 additions .
Very nice write up and really like the reality check on the 4000 graphics . Seems for most it will be moot but for others it could come in handy for that occasional light gaming itch .
BTW ... Grats on the new position here at one of the best tech...
