Your logic is ultimately what changed my thinking. It was time to turn over a new leaf and trust more than my trusty ol' Caviar Blacks and use the extra coin to buy more drives for backup when needed.

No worries guys... I was in a hurry to nab the combo deal on the mobo and CPU and I overlooked the RAM speed and drive mounting details. Even though I had to pay a few more bucks in shipping for another order, I'm not too sore about my oversight... I just wanted to get the decision over with...

One thing I noticed that PCPP estimated the power draw to be at about 385W. Is the 550W PSU cutting it close or should I be fine? I don't plan on hanging anything more than that eSATA dock for 1 HDD off of the system...

10 vs 6 internal SATA ports and the eSATA port on the back. I like having lots of port options... Having decent OC'ing capability for future playing isn't a bad thing either...

How much real-world gain is there with the Sandy Bridge hexacore architecture compared to the Haswell 4 core architecture (4770K)? I don't see much advantage in the Anandtech benchmarks results. In fact, I see more deficiencies in the 3930K compared to the 4770K, but maybe I'm not looking at...

Unless you do a lot of heavy 3D rendering and the like in Photoshop, ditch the GPU and buy a hyperthreaded CPU with integrated graphics (3770K or the like). CS6 supports OpenCL with the 3770K... A GPU does nothing in LR. How important is gaming to you? Maybe leave it off for now and see how...

Do you do a lot of 3D rendering in PS? If not, the discrete GPU won't likely be a game-changer if the AMD chip has integrated graphics. LR doesn't take advantage of a discrete GPU either (I believe). The integrated graphics in the 3770K is swell enough for what I do...

You might consider this (and save your pennies for it if need be): you will get MUCH more responsive LR editing performance if you put your catalog, LR previews, and RAW cache on an SSD than if you put them on any HDD. It won't, however, affect export speed too much, if at all, but that's when...

I've wondered this myself with 16 GB RAM, but a Google search on this topic resulted in me leaving one in place. As far as it being on your HD vs SSD, I would leave it on the SSD - you bought it for speed, right? Again, searching this forums and others, I wouldn't worry about too many writes...
