Even if you did overclock the socket A 2800+, it would have to be of immense disparity (MHZ and FSB) to overtake the Sempron S754 that it wouldn't be worth the effort. So in stock form for both, it's an easy answer...get the Sempron 2800+ (S754) because it'll be faster across the board...
Assuming the Pentium 4 and Athlon 64 systems are similarly priced, the Athlon 64 is a better value and has a longer life cycle. If Intel's "Prescott" cpu is compatible with P4 motherboards, it could be hard to argue but even Intel shows in their most recent product roadmaps a committment...
I have always loved NEC Multisync monitors. I knew of their quality back in the mid-1980s! I have used my 17" NEC Multisync XP17 for a number of years with little regret. Back when I made the decision to purchase a professional series monitor, there wasn't a whole lot of choices available...
Here are some of the AGP values I have tried with the Radeon 7000 AGP card and Abit KA7 motherboard from the bios:
68
A8
BA
B9
DC
CC
DE
DA
DA
FF
Additionally, I've raised the I/O voltage from the default 3.3v to 3.4 and set AGP mode to 2X in the bios. Nothing has helped so far. I...
So here is my dilemma, I built an older Abit KA7 motherboard with a Radeon 7000 AGP and Windows XP Professional for a friend (yes I know the KA7 is old don't laugh!). I had problems with bootup into XP. It kept locking up. After removing all the other peripherals, I determined it was the video...
I have an external FireWire Yamaha 16X burner for a Toshiba Satellite Laptop connected via Western Digital's firewire adapter and have trouble burning audio CDs at any speed above 2x. Additionally, the CDs make crack and snap sounds.
The Toshiba Satellite Laptop is running under Windows 98SE...
How many of you are waiting for the Radeon SE? So far, I've heard that the core and memory speeds will be increased to 230 MHz (that's 230 for the core and 460MHz for memory because it's DDR) and it should be out summer (price is unknown). I think it should be comparable to the Geforce 2 Pro...
I'm a Super7 user and would like to know what kind of support is being considered in the drivers for Radeon products?
What kind of openGL and D3D performance can we expect for our systems?

I have an AMD K6-III+ 450 overclocked to 600 MHz. I had to bump up the core voltage from 2.0 to 2.1 volts to have rock solid stability. The bios reports CPU Temp of 24 degrees Celsius (75 degrees F), and System Temp of 48 degrees Celsius (118 degrees F). The chip is cooled with a standard...
I successfully overclocked my mobile AMD K6-III+ 450 from PC Liquidator to 600 MHz without having to raise the core voltage beyond the default 2.0 volts.
Long Live Super 7!
