I'm not sure if we have coax hookup upstairs or not, there isn't one in my room but there might be one in another room, I'll have to check. I'm assuming if the modem is upstairs the powerline will get more than 10mbps/up? I guess it depends on how the house is wired? I have no idea about wiring...

Thanks for the suggestion L0ne, I'll check that out. I've never really thought of getting a pair of headphones and a clip-on mic but that seems to be what a lot of people recommend so I'll have to look into it more.

Question about headphones

I have a headset with a mic that is plugged into the back of my computer using the audio jacks back there and I have no problems with it. I also have some ipod headphones plugged into the front audio jack that pick up a lot of interference and buzzing noise so it is really annoying to use them...

I didn't know system recovery would delete all my stuff, I thought it would recover files or something, I googled that stuff but now I can't connect the old computer to the internet because it doesn't register the wireless card or the USB wireless card I have either.

My hard drive is a Toshiba laptop drive. My friend built me my computer and he had that drive lying around so he just used that. It's a Toshiba MK2565GSX drive if that matters. I'll check out Seatools and see what happens. Is there any thing like that for a DVD drive? Thanks guys for all your help.
