Is there anyway to get 5.1 multichannel sound output from DVD movies without buying powerdvd or win dvd? The OEM bundled versions of these programs do NOT include full 5.1 multichannel output. only way to get 5.1 is to use spdif. powerdvd says that it's the 2 channel version and it would be $40...

thanks. If I upgrade the server to windows 2000 server, can I still run clients with a mixed os network? win 2000pro, and xp home at the same time? what if any are the advantages of windows 2003 server? thanks

Yes, they are CPU temps. I just ran PCMark 2002: CPU: 6506 Memory: 4974 Hard Drive: 1260 Are these scores ballpark for my rig? all stock, no OC. how do you check the memory to see if you are functioning under dual channel? I have the two sticks in 1 and 3 slots according to the manual.

correct me if I'm wrong, but DVI has severe length restrictions. VGA will still give you great pic and most LCD projectors have inputs for VGA and can handle significantly longer leads. Otherwise, you will have to place LCD near HTPC.

Thanks for the response. I did try to shut down the firewall. Why would the antivirus cause a network error? What's a vxd vfat01 error? Would a DMA setting on the harddrive cause this? Would reinstalling Windows fix this problem? Are all VXD problems with the OS? Thanks again.
