The p4 was a joke in my opinion. Rhambus ram was a good idea at the time but the cost wasn't. I had an Athlon XP 1700+ that more than kept up with the p4@2ghz. Problem was that three memory timing was horrible on those older platforms. And my xp ran 30 % cooler in the same room with...
Brakes don't always wear evenly. Maybe the previous owner only changed one side? So many possibilities, but one thing I'll state, is best to change both sets of pads at once. Saves guessing on when which set needs replaced.
If the gauge in the rotor is bad, may want to replace that. My...
Hiemdall is the way to go. Works the same way on the s2 as well. While Odin is the perfect tool, there has to be a Mac side. Either way, the best way I'd imagine (not real familiar with the s1), is the same as the s2. Get a clockwork mod recovery and flash a ROM or whatever.
Xda is the...
You can get a sprint variant of the galaxy s2 and flash it to boost mobile. Boost mobile has unlimited everything and runs off of sprints network. One of the s2 can be had on craigslist for a hundred or two usually. Then a boost mobile phone and Android service I believe is $55 a month and...
Thank you all who have posted. What I'm going to do is actually show him this thread later today and see what he thinks. I could get him a 550ti tomorrow for 120 and have it running. However, I'd have to sink more into it lol. I mean Diablo 3 will run on an x4500hd chip, not high res, but...
I'll have to talk him into anything non nvidia personally. He's always been a nVidia guy, he said it's because of never having a problem on them. I tried reminding him, the 8800gts is what failed. He told me his brother in law gave it to him and it hasn't been ran in over two years. So...
Well, like i said, his budget cannot exceed $100. He's disabled and can't work and i helped him with the rest of the machine. I'm tapped out on finds for it but managed to get a p67 board with a c2d 3.0ghz wolfdale and 4gb off ddr2 800 ram. Now we need a decent video card and he's pushing the...
Title says it all. A friend machine dropped the gpu a couple weeks ago. Being on a low budget as is, he can't afford much. Main game he'd be playing would be Diablo 3 and he would like to run it at 1920x1080 with decent settings. Anything out there that could achieve this in the $100 budget...
I'd definitely slap that hdd into another system. It sounds like it may have taken the long road home.
If that's not possible, a boot disc may be your best option. I keep a couple different Linux boot cds just for problems like that. :)
Remember, the biggest things in gaming anymore are video card performance while not letting the cpu and ram bottleneck. If you don't mind load times, hdd performance isn't the biggest factor.
I always build around a processor and video card combination that suits me. Last year i slapped a...
