  1. Computer Configuration Compatibility

I think you should upgrade that SSD to 256 GB
  2. Here's my $1,400 Skylake build

If I were you then I would have added a PCI WiFi card. It helps if you don't want unnecessary LAN cable to connect to router. Also as other veterans suggested, do get a sturdy motherboard like Asus Z170 Pro, it'll make the overclocking go easy on the setup. Since you're overclocking, do get a...
  3. Critics advise please

Is it possible to share a common radiator for 2 liquid cooling setups, one for CPU another for GPU? Sorry if the question is noobish, but couldn't help asking.
  4. need advice with my first gaming PC

After seeing your motherboard and CPU it's quite clear you won't overclock or have thoughts for SLI, right? Also the kinda GPU you're after, you seem to game on 1080p and won't mind turning down the effects notch a little, do you? So, if I'm right in my assumptions then you don't need to have...
  5. Critics advise please

That sounds reasonable. But I'm gonna part with 380 for now due to it's heat and extreme power consumption. I think I'll have to hold for Nvidia to launch something similar to 970 with 8GB memory so as to future proof my way for high textures in upcoming titles. I was thinking of getting this...
  6. Critics advise please

I'm not much of a AMD fan since they are late on drivers and heat a lot. In future when I'll overclock the GPU, I fear that it might get burnt. Are my fears feasible?
  7. Critics advise please

I'm ready to go with i5 over i7 for that as I don't need that much processing power. But daily speeds matter much to me. Let's hope I can grab one when it's a little cheap than its now. 970 is okay or do I need to stretch to 980?
  8. Critics advise please

ASAMOF, I do play FIFA, a lot. Well then I guess I need to find a Samsung TV with that refresh rate to for in right. Anything else?
  9. I need your comments on this build from Cyberpowerpc

I've been out of the tech loop too, but now I'm a little aware of the current development. Firstly, since the intended purpose is office work, you should look for faster response time. By that I mean get faster storage. That should be your priority. So look for 1TB SSD, Samsung, Sandisk or...
  10. Critics advise please

Yeah, I think an unlocked i5 is all I need. Have been using the locked Sandy Bridge for more than 2 years so unlocked Skylake should be good enough. For the smaller die size and better performance, should I wait for the upcoming generation of GPUs? Meanwhile I can reuse my old GTX 560 Ti...
  11. Critics advise please

@frozentundra123456 Well I think i7 is too much for my needs as I dont need to do video related stuff and that much multi tasking. I've no thoughts on SLI. So do you think 390 will make any difference than 970 at 1080p? And yeah I need to find better latencies in RAM. Point noted. Thanks for the...
  12. Critics advise please

Thanks TheDayDreamer for the answers. I've played games on 27" monitor and am tired of it. So I listed a 40" 1080p TV instead. I primarily play a game for 1 week or few days more if its a long one. No multiplayer. So 60fps is comfortable for me. Will the TV's refresh rate matter in any way?
  13. Critics advise please

I'm gonna put together a $1200 ish rig in a couple of months. Since I was out of touch with the tech world, but I put together these GPU - Gigabyte GTX970 4GB CPU - i5 6600K HEATSINK - CM 212 Hyper Evo MOBO - Asus Z170 PRO RAM - Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2x8 GB PSU - Seasonic G-650 650W...
  14. Doubts on Redmi Note

LG shows out of stock. And I would rather not buy a used gadget. Is Intel Atom processor of Asus Zenphone good enough??
  15. Doubts on Redmi Note

Oh didnt know that. Well there is a 4G version that will be released in the upcoming weeks. Specs It has a Snapdragon 400 quad core running at 1.6 Ghz. Is it good enough for this phablet?? EDIT: Asus Zenphone 5 also looks nice at this budget. But is my money safe with Intel Atom which has 2...
  16. Doubts on Redmi Note

Yeah no 4G. And I have heard about performance issues about HTC. So its quite out of my list right now. I didn't get the Google apps thing, could you please elaborate it??
  17. Doubts on Redmi Note

Hello everyone. I was thinking of getting a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G. But I can't believe my eyes after checking the specs of it. Here is a glimpse of it : 1.7 GHz MTK MT6592 Octa Core Processor Expandable Storage Capacity of 32 GB Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS 13 MP Primary Camera 5.5-inch...
  18. HDD not responding after forcefully ejected

Didnt know that. Thanks for the info mate.
  19. HDD not responding after forcefully ejected

Okay guyz I figured it out at last. After about 45 mins the HDD finally responded. Then I backed up all my data, formatted the drive and so far so good. But still now I have no idea why the drive took 45 mins to respond normally. Any clues anyone??
  20. HDD not responding after forcefully ejected

Guyz, guyz I'm not cracking anything open. Not now atleast. It has a 3 year warranty. I just want to extract the data from it and then format it for good cuz as far as I realize the file system must have got corrupted. Breaking the thing is off the table.
  21. HDD not responding after forcefully ejected

But I didnt install any software from that HDD. Moreover that utilities supported until Win7. And yeah I tried plugging it in another computers, same scenario. I was thinking if I booted it into Ubuntu or in WinPE, will it do any good??
  22. HDD not responding after forcefully ejected

I have a Sony external hard drive HD-EG5 of 500GB, USB 3.0 which was plucked away without ejecting it properly from Windows by my cousin's son. After that I plugged in my drive and it responded after 15-20 mins. Meanwhile, the address bar of Windows was gradually being filled like that happens...
  23. So how are you liking Win10 so far?

The Enterprise version includes WindowsToGo -- which SHOULD allow install to an external drive much the same as did Windows 8. But the standard Tech Preview does not support installing to an external drive. Is this true?? Sorry for going slightly offtopic. :\
  24. Doubt on RAM speed

For B75 Express I got this So,IMO highest speed supported is 1600 which is already installed in my case. Same goes for HM76 Express, But nowhere it says anything about latencies. What should I make of that ??
  25. Doubt on RAM speed

Nope, my BIOS doesn't have that kind of options for RAM. So basically I'm left with a scenario where I have to buy the RAM,put it inside and see if the laptop gives permission to run them at their designated speeds, am I right in saying that?? What if I opt for tighter latencies ?? Cuz that too...
  26. Doubt on RAM speed

Yup that's the thing I wanted to hear. BTW, is there any way I can figure out upto what fastedt speed RAMs are compatible for my notebook ?? The notebook is Samsung NP550P5C and has Processor Core i5 3210M Chipset B75 Express/HM76 Express
  27. Doubt on RAM speed

Just curious what is exactly my RAM speed - 800 or 1600 MHz ?? The image below are screens from CPU-Z application.
  28. Ssd samsung 840 evo or intel 530

I would recommend Crucial M550 as it costs less and gives quite near performance as Samsung ones. And about the Samsung 850 Pro, its never advisable to go with a new technology in SSDs unless you know you won't get lost. Its to avoid firmware glitches. Also the 10 year warranty is not to great...
  29. [SOLVED] Is Samsung best at 256 GB?

Okay folks, so I dropped in a Crucial M550 256GB which was a tad less than the Samsung EVO. But I didn't clone my drives to it, just partitioned it and applied my ".WIM" recovery data onto it by WinPE. Running the computer on a SSD brings it to a whole new level folks. SSD is a must for any...
  30. [Solved]Help disassembling Samsung NP550P laptop

Well it went all right. But I did sweat while taking off the sub-woofer connector from the mobo cuz its cable is intertwined with the bottom chasis. So any NP550P owner who bumps into this thread beware of the sub-woofer connector while removing the bottom chasis. And once again, thanks to...
  31. [Solved]Help disassembling Samsung NP550P laptop

Will do so. Lets keep my fingers crossed for the moment. @MagnusTheBrewer I will return after an hour. So if you have some time, do check this thread cuz you have helped immensely so far. :)
  32. Computer slow or stops

From what I've heard "Windows Search" process might be responsible for that 100% HDD usage in Win8/8.1 but from my experience I found out that its just Taskmanager that gives it a 100% value. Upon monitoring by several softwares I found out that the R/W rates were some MB/s only. About System...
  33. [Solved]Help disassembling Samsung NP550P laptop

Nope there are no screws under those pads. I checked all of them. I think you are right in saying that plastic tabs may be holding them together. But if I try to pry it open, will they snap forever ?? Or can they be put in place again ??
  34. [Solved]Help disassembling Samsung NP550P laptop

You mean under those rubber pads or beside them ??? Cuz I opened the screws beside them too.
  35. [Solved]Help disassembling Samsung NP550P laptop

Are you talking about the screws one encounters after opening the HDD/ODD cover ?? Bcuz if thats the ones then I have removed every single screw that is possibly holding the chasis together. And about the removing the top bezel by the ports I feel kinda insecure cuz if it gets cracked, then I'm...
  36. [Solved]Help disassembling Samsung NP550P laptop

  39. [SOLVED] Is Samsung best at 256 GB?

@Essence_of_War couldn't agree with you more. Crucial does have a considerable less price than EVO. But Crucial doesn't seem to have RAPID, will it affect my performance in games or applications ?? And as far as games are concerned I'm a casual gamer only.
