Uh oh...Japanese carrier in advanced talks to buy Sprint

It's pretty impressive, Sprint's turnaround from WiMAX to LTE. They do deserve props for that. It's not an easy thing to do, both politically or technically.

Droid Razr Maxx HD

Do the new RAZRs have a better display in terms of mura? The original Droid RAZRs had a problem with the screen being all splotchy with a black background in a dark room. Absolutely unpleasant for Netflix in the dark.

why cant other companies use better materials for thier phones like apple?

I'd like to add that for durability, my old iPhone 3GS took a tumble down diamond-plated metal stairs. Took a few chunks out of the plastic, but that's only minor cosmetic issues.

And THIS is why US cellular providers suck.

T-Mobile is honestly the only carrier I like in terms of plans. They paired up with Walmart for a $30 unlimited voice/data prepaid with 100 minutes a month.

are ad blockers any good for web browers?

Absolutely. Adblock is crucial for Youtube. I haven't installed No-script yet, but I'm getting a lot closer to it. I'm seeing websites hiccup on certain things involving ad networks, even with Adblock.

802.11ac?

Hello all, Was curious as to your opinion of 802.11ac, and how long it'll take for consumer devices to pick up on it. It seems to be a bit different than the adoption of N, where there were devices that had it in draft form before it was even finalized.

My vision is pretty good, so I can sit back about three feet away and I can still see the coating on the whites. I don't have anything to calibrate it with, so maybe that comes into play. The brightness was also at 75% along with contrast, and lowering the brightness does help as well. What...

Iphone 5's 40% better color saturation..

I've wanted a MBPr for a long time, but Anandtech's mentioning of some stuttering in scrolling gave me pause. Supposedly there'll be a 13" version, which would be pretty awesome.

The biggest problem with the U2412M is the antiglare coating. If you check out some of the reviews, you'll see people complain about it. It's prevalent when looking at a white background, though how close you are to the monitor impacts it. For me, it almost disappears after moving about two...

Do you actually have control over your cable modem? It sounds like the cable company may be pushing configurations to it. Have you tried to do this without having the cable connection plugged into it, out of curiosity?

Not sure I understand the question. The GPS watch receives a signal from satellites, and uses that information to determine your location. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_navigation_device Am I missing something?

WIN7: open with...

Is there a problem with browsing to Notepad++ and selecting it that way? The other possible option is under Settings, Preferences, File Association. If you move the desired type over with the arrow, it should take over with opening it in Notepad++.

Getting a 4s. Verizon or ATT?

AT&T can be pretty hit or miss. I've had situations where the place was crowded, and I would have full signal but no data connectivity. Granted, it was a 3GS at the time. The nice thing about AT&T though is international travel as well as simultaneous voice and data. My personal phone is...
