The lower than expected clocks and the weak RT improvment really killed the performance that I was expecting to be a good upgrade over my 6800XT. 7800XT with N32 will be like 6950XT +10% and that is not a worth upgrade by far.
Looks like the only cards that makes sense are 7970XTX and 4090 but...
After the RX480 fiasco I don't think that AMD will ever draw much power from the pci-e slot again. They will just draw a little more than 150W from the 8 pin cables and will be fine.
Just remember that AMD lauched a 295X2 that was a 500W dual GPU with 2X8pin and the card worked fine on good PSUs.
Everyone have forgotten the Vega hype.
Even if the 7900XT has the same performance of the 4090 for $999 the Nvidia card will still outsell it by 5:1. This is just the way that the current high end maket is. High end users will just buy Nvidia.
For AMD to make a dent in the marketshare they...
You need to click on "power consumption testing details"
Gaming: Cyberpunk 2077 is running at 2560x1440 with Ultra settings and ray tracing disabled. We ensure the card is heated up properly, which ensures a steady-state result instead of short-term numbers that won't hold up in long-term usage.
For the skyjuice article I think that will be something like this:
7900 - cut down - 320 bits - 20GB vram
7900XT - full chip - 384 bits - 24GB vram
7950XT - full chip + 3D cache (1hi) - 384bits - 24GB vram - Top card maybe limited and AIO water only to cool the stacked cache
Brazilian review did this (~13 min mark):
7700X
Stock - 95 C - 5245Mhz all core - 140W
-0.100Mv - 87 C - 5360Mhz all core - 130W
But for the temps changing the TDC,EDC and PPT was better (~12 min mark).
76 C - 5200Mhz all core - 112W
I think with all this shader power maybe the rumored 384bits and 96mb cache are not enough. Scalling should be better than Ampere but how much?
Looking on the Nvidia performance slides AD102 with >2X Tflops is about ~50-60% faster than A102 in native 4K even with the huge increase on the L2...
Found another performance slide over the internet.
https://forum.adrenaline.com.br/threads/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4xxx.696550/post-1076262025
Looking over some bechmarks of F1 2022 and CP2077 with a 3090Ti seems like the 4090 will be about 50% faster in native 4K.
If you think the price is high just look on the Brazil recommended prices:
https://adrenaline.com.br/noticias/v/78807/exclusivo-veja-precos-das-novas-gpus-nvidia-rtx-40-no-brasil
Today: 1 USD = 5.15 BRL
4090 15000 BRL ~ 2900 USD
4080 11000 BRL ~ 2100 USD
4080 12GB 8200 BRL ~ 1590 USD
Crazy stuff. JPR says that EVGA have 40% of Nvdia market share in NA.

The other AIBs must be fighting like mad dogs right now over this hole on the market.
I think the AMD RT performance evolution will mirror their tesselation evolution. Only by the 3rd gen (7970) they had good tesselation perf and I am expectiong to be the same with RT, so RDNA4 will have good RT perf. Of course that RDNA3 will be better but I am no expecting any huge gains.
Since is a new cpu they still did not have the chance to make Intel beat AMD. If I remember well by the time that Zen 1 and 2 were competing with better multicore they lowererd the weight of the multicore part of the test in the final score. I bet now that Intel will have better multicore they...
It is a old poblem that Nvidia default image on HDMI looks very bad compared with AMD. You have to configure to have the same image.
Set color depth to Full RGB
Increase the sharpness and vibrance of the colors to your preference
All the times that I change back to Nvidia and then again to...
N33 should come to replace the N23 (6600XT) and have max $400 MRSP since is rumored use the cheaper 6nm. Maybe if AMD launch first they can get way with $500 and marketing as a "6900XT for half the price".
I think that was him that people (me also) tought hat was crazy to say that RDNA2 would reach 2.5GHZ overclocked.
Even if the 2GDC gpu exiits maybe is just for pro and that would not make all other leakers wrong.
If the slide is real RDNA3 will release only in 2023. And if Nvidia launching ADA in july rumor is true I preditc that AMD will reach ~5% market share by the time RDNA3 launches.
Wainting to see if they put this on Cyberpunk so I can play with RT on my 6800XT. Other games that I play here (moded Skyrim, Dark Souls 3 and smaller rpgs) already runs well on native 4K.
