Go to the taiwan site. Heres the link ASUS taiwan
Via 4 in 1 yes, on a win2k install dont use the irq routing or the via vxd driver. Use the agp miniport driver from AMD instead of the via vxd driver in the 4 in 1. Latest official 4in1 is the 4.31 version.
With the problems you seem to be having comprehending, My advice would be to have someone else build it for you because you haven't a clue child. Now please move along.
1.Satisfaction of building it yourself.
2.Knowledge that the components chosen were best at the time.
3.Learning something new along the way.
4.Headaches.
5.Nausea.
6.Frustration.
7.Premature aging.
8.Having a clue as to upgradeability of your system.
:D
If this board turns into any kind of performer the Intel celeron line is dead , cooked skewered this may be the celeron killing mainboard that AMD has been waiting on. Oems will be able to package a duron system at much cheaper prices than the current celerons with better performance. ATI
stock...
Uh thanks kfloster just answered what i've been trying to say here . :D Nort do me a fav buy nvidias stock your so in love, on second thought take a few classes in reading comprehension so that maybe you can understand better. Really a skirt, not bad maybe that explains the problem understanding...
i'm sure it is, assuming they're using an AGP video and integrated LAN...even assuming not using integrated LAN...
Your also assuming of course that none of these slots in anyway shape or form share with anything else slowing down performance or creating conflicts, big stretch that one. Folks...
nort chillout because you cant see the forest for the trees. As for the sex if your wearing a skirt and i've had enough to drink maybe just maybe.........
Heres my original post seeing as how you are totally clueless as to my position on this :
"It looks like a micro atx with 3 pci slots...
Maybe wsp figures that if a person pays 200 to 300 dollars for a vid. card the freaking manufacturer wouldnt skimp on cheap 10 cent rf filters on the card in the first place. Then again maybe thats what i think. :D
5 to 6 pci slots would be absolutely great for a home box. Ive been waiting for a vialess motherboard which packed performance along with stability, maybe just maybe this offering from nvidia will do it. Now lets get some boards out to the reviewers and see what this thing can do.
Here's a...
Keep as far away as possible from the kt266 its not ready for prime time yet and may never be, Via is having some problems penetrating the market with it especially since the amd based ddr boards beat it in just about every review and those quirky via problems just continue to occur. The epox...
Advocate putting intel aside for a second, the question should also be "How will ATI respond?". This is going straight for the jugular , ATI survives on oem contracts what will happen to them once nvidia can market an all in one board, obviously depending on the cost of this thing...
Ripped from cnet:
Advanced Micro Devices will rev up Athlon again with the introduction of its fastest desktop chip late next week.
The chipmaker, as expected, will announce its 1.4GHz desktop Athlon processor and a new 950MHz Duron chip next week at the Computex trade show in Taiwan, sources...
Ok flame baiter i wasnt going to reply to the first negative diatribe on my question of where was big brother but yours is totally asinine. I'll tell you really slowly because it might help you understand better, not everyone uses onboard video or audio, get a clue. This board is great for OEM...
knoahbear, If your seriously looking at a card for 2d i'll recommend the ati 64 vivo. Ive gone from a geforce sdr to a geforce 2 gts and finally to the radeon 64 vivo. Most of what i do is business related with a strategy game here and there so fps is not a concern of mine. the recent 3211...
I think you might be playing it a little to safe do a little more research on the different drivers in the package seeing as how this has to be installed before anything else why go through the trouble of having to format reinstall. you might end up saving a penny and being pound foolish. Good luck.
I'm not sure on the auto detect just be sure to doublecheck when it starts installing, if the agp driver is checked then by all means uncheck it and go on with the installation.
I ran into a problem with the 686b and sblive during gaming, One of the issues is hard lockups and a game sound loop...
If you download the 4 in 1 and start the install you can unselect the ones you dont want to use its pretty simple really. Just a simple use of the noggin will tell you to uncheck the ones you dont need. Again just unselect the agp driver to install and obviously uncheck the irq routing driver...
I second kcbass choose another sound card other than an sb live whatever. Its a known problem matched with the 686b southbridge, i chose the turtle beach santa cruz after running into problems with the sb live and have been happy ever since.
Yes you use the 4 in 1 drivers from viatech.com site grab the 4.31 and install them immediately after installing your operating system once youve downloaded them and the install process begins just check the ones your going to use and uncheck the ones your not in the install process that starts...
Dell gets a sweetheart deal from intel and in turn intel can trumpet dell as a so called closed shop only using their product and being profitable because of it. There would have to be something major like all of intels factories suddenly blowing up for AMD to even have a crack at the contract...
Dells firmly in the intel camp and with all the probable financial inducements from intel, will stay there. They weathered the desktop athlon storm when all they had was a p3 1ghz to go up against it and theyll probably do the same with the laptops. It just looks like michael and jerry rub each...
HP i believe, but dell? I will probably have a heart attack on the spot if that becomes official. I'd probably believe that compaq, hp, gateway etc... will use the athlon 4, Ugh!! what a name, seeing as how intel still cant ramp production enough to satify their needs but dell will be firmly...
whatever you do make sure it also has a dvi connection. stultus what your talking about i think is the response time of the monitor the lower it is the better
In windows98, put in a floppy. Open up a dos prompt, and type:
format a: /s
that will give you an abolutely clean boot floppy. then you put whatever BIOS flashing tools and the new BIOS on the floppy.
Question should be "Why is asus taking so long to bring it out?" is it that unstable of a chipset, is it that bad of an underperfomer?. My personal experience with MSI kt266 answers that question at least for me. Maybe asus just isnt happy with it at all and doesnt want to have their...
snowman you wouldnt happen to be speaking about asus newest drivers and suddenly invisible walls now would you?:D Actually he's using a radeon so no sweat speaking about it.
