For the two 770's in SLI I dont believe there much of a performance gap between 8x and 16x, maybe 5%.
In that case running your two 770's in SLI 8x would take 16 lanes + 4 for the M.2 should leave you with 8 lanes free.
If your AV you are installing behaves well (like I assume 99% of them do(In this area)) then windows defender will deactivate whilst the AV is running.
I dont have FF either but waterfox (31.x) seems to have no problems with it. So yeah it seems palemoon has a problem there. Any idea why its way back in 24.x?
I used to use palemoon until i ran into a problem a year or two ago and now waterfox is my go to as it seems to run fasters and is...
I have the same mobo and mine cycles thru most of those codes before sitting on A2 for a while, ending in a normal boot.
As for the cpu fan spining for a half turn and then stoping, My first board did that and it was rma'ed. No fault of my own there.
I hope you have the same tolerance level for blind win8 haters.
Why?
I think most people dont think that but at the same time we must stop pretending that NONE of those who hate it are little brats who are afraid of change.
Except the quite a few people saying its worse than Win ME. I would...
The mouse issue was fixed, Ive used 8/8.1 now for a year + now and have had very little problems.
I mainly game on my home pc.
I didnt do a clean install 8 to 8.1(I wanted to but got lazy).
I used win 8 and now 8.1 stock with no added start menu this or that.
I can jump around faster than I...
I would disagree, I dont use touch at all and I love Win 8.1 without start menu replacement.
If anything I get annoyed by working on someones win 7 comp as it lacks things in Win 8 that makes fixing computers faster.
Great os, Bad rep.
*Power user menu
*Can pause file tranfers
*Improved Task Manager
*Can mount iso`s oob
*Can start programs faster
*Runs on less resources
*Runs games better (more fps)
*Will get updates win 7 wont (dx)
*Costs the same as win 7 or less.
For loading games like mmo's and such no difference will be noticed. You would only notice a difference by running a server type workload or a synthetic benchmark.
If you have windows 7 already you could install it on your new SSD. It should activate but if it doesnt you may need to ring MS and explain that you have swapped out your HDD for an SDD.
Im glad to hear its all working, my boss did the same thing except it crunched the mobo aswell. Now the computer when booting will fall over the first time and complete the boot the second time. It angered him to much after that so I got a free mobo/cpu :D
Teracopy is so ugly and why use a 3rd party program when you got one built in?
Yes I like Process Explorer aswell but if I need to figure out a problem quickly on someone elses comp its nice to use the improved task manager
I dont need to mount iso very often but id rather use the integrated one...
For the C drive/file exploring ive always used the shortcut key. Much faster than clicking anything. And for the control panel win key + x is faster and better (it also has a one click device manager, disk management and other goodies. You can even customize it eg I have a shortcut to windows...
I wish the downloader let you choose 32/64bit and pro/non pro. I often want to download an iso but not for the comp im using
Buy $1000 worth of hardware for $2000 and get a free OS ():)
From what ive heard 2700k @ 4.8 GHz is around a 4770k @ 4.2 GHz and 4.4 maybe the avg overclock for the 4770k. So thats maybe a 200 MHz improvement if you upgraded to haswell. And you stated that 4.8 GHz to 5 GHz isnt worth it (voltage wise) so im guessing 200 MHz for an upgrade probably isnt...
