mineral oil?

I seem to rember reading an article about just that. I don't rember what web page it was (Anyone?) I'm not sure if you would need a special pump, but I do know that oil isn't the greatest thermial conducter. Other than the pump, (A regular water pump might work.) in the article the person used...

Making your own copper thermal grease? Possable?

Humm Interesting idea of using Never seize. As for the conductivity of the grease: I'm not too worried, your using a metal heatsync right ? just avoid getting it on the smds on the amd chips. Anyone have any experence in using any of the greases described ? Last but not least, I'm not quite...

Cooling your ram?

I don't personally cool my ram with anything, but if you overclock your bus speed and find that your ram is running hot, it can't hurt to put a heat sync on them.... I have also hear that with ram cooling people are able to overclock their bus speed more. So in short it depends on if your ram...

Making your own copper thermal grease? Possable?

I was wondering, would it be possable to make your own thermal grease ? Right now I am in the process of milling out a copper block and wanted to know if you could mix in the very fine copper dust into regular thermal grease and if that would help ? If not does anyone know how copper grease is...

Best tool to cut holes in a case ...

While the hole saw is the best its also the most expensive. I read that some people were using a roto zip, well I would recommend getting a dremel tool instead. The roto zip is more of a wood working tool/angle grinder. The dremel tool is an all around everthing tool. Just cut the hole a little...

Old heatsinks uses?

Well some ideas would be, depending on what your heat sync looks like: Dremel it down to memory chip sizes and put the litte heat syncs on your video memory and system memory. You could upgrade your chipset cooling with a heat sync that has a fan. I personally don't feel that cooling the back...

Where to get heat sink compound, and what type?

What about making your own copper paste ? Does taking copper dust (From milling a water block) and mixing it with silicone heat sync gell work good ? I think when I mill my copper block I'm going to try doing that. I'm using a high speed steel grinder bit in my dremel to mill out a channel in...

I was at a lan party and one of my friends was having lockup problems, you guessed it: his system was overheating. The video card that he had purchased had no active cooling. So to quickly fix the problem we too the side of his case off and put a small desk fan blowing into his case. Amazing...
