You should of tried out a linux distro with Gnome, Unity, or Cinnamon as a desktop enviroment. I run Ubuntu most of the time because most programs (GTK and QT based) scale wonderfully with high resolution. They look just as good as OSX programs in hidpi mode.

Retroarch is kind of the best "emulator" for PS1 and under emulation. Even though the interface can be a little difficult, it's so convenient to have controls already configured for whatever emulator you're using and you can use these cool filters.

I just like the fact that ever since I upgraded my pc to a "gaming pc" I can now play games for $5 that are still being sold for over $20 for consoles. Its amazing how cheap PC games are. Humble bundle makes it a even better value.

I think It would be better to build a gaming pc than buy a ps4 for $850. You can get a PC with a better graphics card and still buy a game or two thats also on the ps4 for less money.
