as far as I've heard, microsoft is not actually financing the development of that game, they're just on good terms with capy, so it's not a definite "xbone exclusive 4ever, muahahaha". we'll just have to wait and see.

it doesn't do just that. if the oxide slides from a few pages back contain truth, then mantle also greatly simplifies gpu memory management by getting rid of all kinds of legacy buffers and types that have piled up over the course of history, making the whole memory a lot leaner to work with...

AC is more open, you get to glide around a lot more, some say the combat is improved, too. But AA is much more focused and, at least to me, has the superior atmosphere and feeling of batman adventure. AC goes a bit overboard with everything and pays the price. they're both well worth getting...

where's the option "neither, both are good"? pure graphics-wise, crysis 3 has a lead over bf3/4, imo, but then again I haven't seen anything like bf3/4 multiplayer on cryengine, so who knows whether it can pull off the same massive scale frostbite games can have.

it's also got trading cards these days, was surprised to see that. and yes, it's pretty damn good. a fairly open world challenging combat-centric rpg with an asshole of a main character and other bigmouths as supporting cast. love it.

yeah, I get what you're saying. I would call that "alternatives", though, not complementary. and mantle is said to be hlsl compatible, so the comfort of high level shader coding might still be there. we'll just have to wait and see.

Games using Monogame on Windows come to mind. Fez has stutter and vsync issues, for example. It might have more to do with the underlying OpenTK or whatever is used there, but nvidia guys have an easier time there. while these games might not be the graphical powerhouses video card forum...

AMD still has problems with OpenGL in other games, too. This is one area they could really improve their drivers. These benchmarks just show that at least preliminary nothing has changed on this front :/

have you tried running full screen? also, do check what clocks your gpu and cpu is running when you're playing the game. that will show if your hardware is downclocking itself.
