It should be fine at stock settings, as peer the supported CPU list, but I wouldn't push any sort of overclock on that board. I didn't see any specific specs when I took a quick look at it, but you really need a minimum 8+2 VRM to maintain stability when overclocking these power hungry CPU's...

My Gigabyte experience (long?)

Worth going 790X/SB750 to 990FX/SB950 for free?

The Gigabyte board is a good piece of hardware. If you're planning an 8-core FX down the road, the VRM's could give you problems but stick with your 955 on all is good. The early revisions, i.e. 1.0 and 1.1 are most desirable My secondary rig has a 955 BE @ 4.1GHz in a 990FXA-UD3 rev 3.0. DO IT!

Finally looking for a new SSD as well

hyper 212 evo doesnt start up till bios in boot and runs @1100 rpm

Not sure about the original Sabertooth 990FX, but R2.0 requires that the CPU fan be PWM or it will run at a constant speed. Same with the CPU_OPT header.

Hey, So if you had the choice which would you run with your FX8350 overclocked to 4.6 GHz? Obviously the 760 wins hands down when it comes to power consumption and thermal properties but what about overall performance in games? So what'll it be? 2 X GTX 560 in SLI or a single GTX 760?

Am I making a big deal about an open video card?

Local Brick and Mortar stores generally offer discounts for "Open Box" items which it sounds like you have. I'm of the mindset that if it works so what...but that's me and not you. Since you're paying for a brand new unit you have every right to expect a brand new unit.

What method did you use when applying the thermal paste? Did you replace the existing cooler with another OEM one? First thing I\d try is reseating the fan/cooler with a re-application of thermal paste.

See if you can find another GTX 560ti - they should be relatively cheap these days. A 560ti SLI setup will likely outperform any single card you'll find for under $300.

Has anyone had success with wireless printers? Always shows as offline

I've been using an MX870 wirelessly for a couple of years. Initially I had issues but resolved them all by giving the printer a static IP in my router - zero connectivity problems since.

What is your opinion on this case ? COOLER MASTER HAF XB

My only gripe is the lack of 3.5 inch bays, but with today's multi TB hard drives it shouldn't be an issue. Temps are nice an low with a Phenom X4 955 BE @ 4GHz sitting at 29C at idle and 40C under load. Awesome case! I love mine.
