I'm reading lots of issues with this H/D and the needing of the firmware update.
I have one ordered and will be useing it as storage in my computer. Are the issues people are complaining about mostly with useing it in raid boxes?
I dual boot win xp and win7 64 bit ( mostly win7).
Am hoping...
This is not ment to be a thread crap.
The rebate says it is for the nec 3500 kit.
and ask for the upc code.
The ad is for an oem one.
Not to sure it will work.
I ordered a p/s and a 6800gt video card for a friend with an Abit TH7ii m/b.
When we went to install it today I found I had the wrong power supply.
I'm an AMD person,so it took me by surprise to see the auxilary power connector on his m/b.
The powersupply I ordered was an Enlight EN-8420934...
I need to know if putting the coolmax chameleon fan on my 2500@3200 barton w/ a slk800 is a bad idea.
It moves 41.41cfm and is rated at 3000rpm. I intend to hook it to a vantec nexus nxp-201.
This looks like a very cool fan.
I have not seen any post about the chameleon, and my knowledge of...
Between the via, TI, and the nec firewire chipsets is one much, if any better than the others for transferring from a digital camera to a computer? I am looking at a via based firewire card that has beter software with it than the nec card has. Any reason not to go with the via card?
I got a viper 770U 32 meg video card gave to me for my sons computer. Does windows xp load the drivers for it? I have not been able to find any xp drivers for it on the web.
Also will there be much gaming improvement with this card over his voodoo 3 3000, 16 meg card?
I've ordered an Epox 8k5a2+ and a xp 1600 cpu. Hoping for a good stepping! Is the thermaltake volcano 7 with the 80 m fan going to work. Or is there problems ,as in not enough clearance for it or to much power drain on the m/b connector? Hope someone can answer this soon so I can order a...
Looks like it is 6 of one and half dozen of the other. I guess just pick a board I like and whichever sound chip it has will be fine. I still don't know which is better, but at least I'm better informed. :)
Thanks for the words of wisdom. Now if I can just decide on a M/B.
Will the new c-media drivers work on my kk-266 with c-media sound? Which by the way I have been happy with.
From most reviews I have read the onboard sound on the KT333 M/Bs is pretty good. And for my use it will probably do. Is there enough difference in sound quality between the c-media and the alc-650 to make it a factor when choosing a new M/B? Or are they pretty close in sound quality? Thanks in...
I need to save my game files so I can import them into D/S after I install my new H/D and then not have to start over again. Help, I don't want to wait to install the new h/d but don't want to start D/S over (again). Can someone tell me how to do this. Or direct me to a site that explains how to...
I need something cheap that will work to do some editing of camcorder tapes. I just want to take camcorder tapes and convert to my computer so I can burn them to cd. I've been trying to research this, but it appears to be a complicated subject. So if you have already been there give me a word or...
They are discontinuing this item and just reduced it from $59. These are real good people to deal with and shipping cost is low. The warranty has been reduced from their normal one year to 30 days. With shipping it comes to $55.95. Thats tcwo.com It's the one without tv out.
I'm sure glad I asked before I ran out and bought a usb modem.
klein297,why do you recommend the isa modem? I thought the isa slot was slower, and near extinct. By the way my Iwill kk-266 does have an open isa slot.
Thanks to everyone for their input.
I need a new modem and I'm thinking about getting a usb with v.92 support. I don't play online games, but who knows what the future holds. Any helpful suggestions or modem enlightenment would be appreciated.
I installed portrait and it caused xp menus to open very slowly. When I would go to start, programs and then a program folder I would have to wait several seconds for the submenu to pop up. Not being able to figure out why or how to fix it I uninstalled it. Anyone else had this problem with...
The old stereo I have does not have any out plugs except the speaker plugs. Can I use them to feed to my line in jack on the soundcard in order to record from the stereo? Or will this not give me a good enough quality sound to burn to cd? I hate to buy new equipment to record a few songs off of...
I'm looking at usb scanners in the less than $100 range. Is getting one with it's own power source the best way to go? It seems I read somewhere that useing usb devices without there own power source was hard on the system. Any advice is welcome. Even about brand preferences or a site that rates...
I have an isa Supra Express 56i modem that xp says will not work with it. I checked the microsoft modem compatible list and it is listed there. Has anyone been sucessful getting this modem to work with xp?
I know it's old but I really like this modem and hate to replace it.
I got it...
A friend of mine has a legal oem win98. However he has misplaced the disk,he still has all the paperwork and numbers. He now needs to redo his computer and wants to be legal but hates the idea of buying another win98. What options does he have? Can he borrow a disk and still be legal since he...
Thanks for the helpful info. From what you say I gather that with my IWILL kk-266 m/b it makes no difference which I use.
As a second question,is their any problems associated with mixing single sided and double sided memory on the same board?
I was told that this is the case. That single sided dimms used higher quality chips. Would this also mean that single sided dimms should overclock better?
Thanks everyone. My curiosity is now satisfied.
GiZzO,You hit it on the head. It's an aux connector for server m/b. Three black wires and two orange and one red wire.
I ordered the Enlight 7237 case with a 300w P/S. My question is about the extra connector on it. What is it for? I think it has six wires going to it. And looks like one of the connectors that an AT p/s has.
