    What's this worth? 15" Powerbook 867

I'm not really up on how well Powerbooks hold their value. Anybody offer some advice? I got it used as part of a trade, so I don't even have a good dollar figure to start from. The computer is as follows: 15" G4 PowerBook 867Mhz (sometimes referred to as TiBook) ATI Radeon 9000 32 MB...

One 19" or two 17" lcds?

That only applies in the world of CRT's. Since the LCD's native resolution is 1280x1024, the screen is physically sized in the correct ratio.

    Photoshop Machine

This is a Photoshop limitation, not an operating system limitation. 64-bit Windows will have no effect on this. For photographic work, CRT's are far superior. LCD's just don't have the colour reproduction needed for professional photographic editing.

    Photoshop Machine

Photoshop... PROCESSOR: you'll do fine with either a P4 or Athlon64. benchmarks don't go dual. there is *some* benefit, but not anything proportionate to the price increase. RAM: As other people have stated, Photoshop will not access more than 2GB. As a general guideline, PS uses 3-5X the...

Is it possible to use 2 cable modems (with individual accounts) at one home?

How reliable is your cable service? You said you'd rather not go with DSL, but here's an interesting thought: keep your existing cable, and get a DSL connection. Then get a router that supports 2 broadband connections. When both are working, you get a load balanced connection, if either one...

Looking for a piece of hardware...

have you tried Windows XP remote desktop? You can't play games over it, but it's pretty good for everything else--especially on a 100mbps or gigabit ethernet connection. This still requires a 2nd pc to be the 'terminal' but it doesn't need to be especially powerful.

    Lexar Compact Flash 12x 32x and 40x

In the Canon A70, there will be no difference at all. The only place you will notice a difference is if you use an external compact flash reader to copy the pictures onto your computer. I've got a Canon S400 with a 256mb Lexar 12x and I'm happy with it.

    Proper firewall with 2003 Server?

I've been looking around at routers that support automatic dialup fail-over. One that I've found is www.snapgear.com. They seem to be quite reasonably priced compared to a lot of others. I'd like to hear comments from others on them.

    router that supports dialup failover

Here's the scenario: Small office (10-15 machines) sharing a 2-way satellite internet connection. It's not the most reliable service, and with winter storms coming I'd like to setup a router that will automatically fail-over to dialup internet (the only other option available). *Ideally* it...

programming my universal remote where to find codes for apex DVD etc?

If the remote you have doesn't include the codes, you're out of luck. The next cheapest option is to buy a learning remote that can learn the codes right from the original remote. The most expensive option is to buy a remote that can be programmed from your computer. For more information, see...

    Reliable webhosting? (< $40 / month)

Wow, the responses are coming in faster than I can read them! (well, almost). I've had experience with www.dathorn.com (set a friend up with them). I understand the flexibility of a reseller account, but in this case it's not required. This is for a small company that wants / needs very...

Should I buy a Digital Rebel? *POLL* *PICS*

Okay, here's what I have to say on the topic... The Digital Rebel is a great entry-level SLR. It opens you up to the whole field of Canon lenses (which will work with any Canon SLR -- film or digital -- made in the last 10 or so years). I'm not sure what pricing is like in the US, but the 10D...
