4GB of RAM

Just don't talk...it'll make your life easier. And Charlescz, as for your question, I'm not sure if you need 4GB of RAM at this point. While some Photoshop work can get RAM-hungry, it will rarely get 4GB of RAM-hungry. Unless you're doing very polygon heavy, raytracing-laden 3D animation...

How many of you are waiting for PCI-E and how many are building now?

I'm waiting for a compelling new core architecture before I make my next upgrade. I think all the pieces are there, but they haven't come together yet. PCI-E, SATA, BTX, DDR2, etc. are all beginning to make their way towards the mainstream and converge, but no particular solution has impressed...

Creative Sound Blaster Zenith: March 2005

Hahaha Honestly, though, the biggest problem I have with Creative is that their drivers are terrible. They take up quite a bit of memory, and rarely have any redeeming features. They need to redesign their software bundle into one, cohesive package that doesn't take up hundreds of megabytes...

Extreme Editions

It's bigger...a lot bigger. The Intel Pentium 4 EE has 2MB of L3 cache, whereas other consumer processors don't have any L3 cache at all. The Athlon XP has 512kb of L2 cache, the Pentium 4 A/B/C has 512kb, and the Pentium 4 E (Prescott) has 1MB. The P4 EE has 512kb of L2 cache, plus 2MB of L3.

Xbox graphics - anyone else disappointed?

The games that you're using are definitely not graphics showcases for the Xbox. Try something like Dead or Alive 3 (just rent it...it's not worth the purchase, IMO). Also, go download the Halo 2 trailers. Games like these will help the true power of your Xbox shine through.
