Please attempt reading the thread. I specifically mentioned that this overhead is more of a problem for people with high refresh rate monitors. Not 40fps or 100fps, more like 144/180/240. Has anyone seen an Overwatch 1080p min settings benchmark to compare like the videos I posted? I haven't.
Nvidia was willing to put in the work to provide a much better DX11 experience for their customers. Why is it too much to ask the same from the other half of the duopoly?
DX11 is not the past yet. People aren't playing ashes of the singularity, they're playing games like Overwatch which just released using DX11. Overwatch reached 10 million players after only three weeks.
I was expecting AMD to get this specific problem fixed during the RX 480 launch but it seems nothing has changed over the years. Nvidia greatly reduced the overhead in their drivers in 2014?!?!

Freesync monitors are ~$150 cheaper than G-sync equivalents and now many newer games are showing a strong performance advantage on the AMD side. At this moment it's easy to choose red over green.

There isn't a new $200 card with more than double the performance of the GTX 950. You might be able to get an old used card that's ready to die from mining abuse on ebay but that wouldn't be a great idea.

What's the point of dropping the clock speed at idle then? Does it just increase the longevity of the chip?
The fx-9590 is just a pre-overclocked FX-8320/FX8350 so any vishera overclocking guide will work. However, the 9590 is already at its limits from the factory so don't expect much.
Most games cannot properly use more than a few processor cores. Because of this, you want the cores that the game CAN use to be fast. Intel has had an IPC lead over AMD for the last four generations while still having a similar maximum clock speed.

Stop benchmarking games in GPU bound situations when you're writing a processor review. You either come off as lazy or biased.
Your ambient temps are lower than usual. You also might have gotten a proper tim/glue application from Intel.
Others get too much glue and air gaps in their TIM and have 25-26c ambient.

I agree. The 8320 is the real flag ship at $150.The 8350,9370,9590 are just binned and pre-overclocked 8320s. You don't get more cores or more cache or anything else. Paying twice as much just for a better bin is a poor choice IMO.

When a game at 1680x1050 shows no difference between the eight tested processors ranging from the old bulldozer to haswell refresh then they need to look for an alternative game to benchmark.
Use your current setup unchanged for a little bit longer, you should be fine, it's not like you're using a dual core or something. When Devil's canyon comes out buy the 4670k equivalent + a z97 motherboard.

These quotes sound like a reviewer comparing a three+ generation old processor to Haswell and not something selling on the shelf right next to it.
If a $90 difference in an entire PC build is a big problem for someone then that someone is usually the guy who will keep that system for many years because shelling out for a new system soon after simply isn't an option. Keep a Vishera system for many years and that $90 went to your power...
I live in the US and power is .34 per kwh here. With power at that price the difference between an overclocked haswell and an overclocked vishera quickly adds up and if you keep the processor long enough it can actually make the haswell cheaper in the long run.
